System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Twilight is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Twilight has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Twilight has 25-35% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants will be recycled.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

Twilight is a young world in a young system, with active tectonics and high mountain ranges.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

  • It is particularly noted for its huge variety of plant life.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Twilight has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Twilight has a population of 6,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).

Urbanization[edit]

Urban areas are spread out around large bodies of water, and along the major rivers. There are areas of vast desert which have no habitation at all.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The most commonly heard languages are:

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Twilight possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Twilight is governed by a Non-charismatic Dictatorship. This is a continuation of the charismatic dictatorship, where the original leadership has died or retired and been replaced by allies or protégés. The justifications for the original change in government remain as well as the assertion of rights to rule.

World Military[edit]

The Twilight Police Force is a de facto Army. They are deployed in a way that suggests that the populace is the enemy.

The Twilight Navy and Marines are a more conventional military force focused for external defense. The Navy boasts a large missile boat with an axial-mount weapon system, and a fleet of small fast System Defense Boats (SDBs).

World Law (L)[edit]

Twilight has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. Most worlds with this law level may be an Amber Zone or Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. There is no difference between the police and the military. This world is a full-fledged police state. Oppression is legalized, though not routine.
