The Link
The Link is the central region of the Rimward Link.
- It is an astrographic feature and part of a major trade route.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
The Rimward Link is an important trade route that crosses parts of Daibei, Massilia, and Zarushagar Sectors. It made up of two large clusters, the Ermi Cluster and the Zazish Expanse, joined by a long trail of systems known as The Link.
The Link forms the central spine of the Rimward Link.
- It has 15 member systems.
- Twelve lie within Zarushagar Sector (with seven systems in Rhamsteppe Subsector and five in Mongrebi Subsector)
- Three lie within Daibei Sector (two lying within Standish Subsector and one within Iingar Subsector).
A basic chart of the overall Link and its component regions is shown, right:
- Worlds within the Link are highlighted in tan.
Commercial Data[edit]
Security & Defense[edit]
The worlds of the region are patrolled by the Imperial 45th and 289th Fleets in Daibei Sector and the Imperial 165th and 279th Fleets in Zarushagar Sector. They defend Imperial territory, suppresses piracy, and ensure trade and commerce.
- A strong sense of rivalry and competitiveness exists between the various Fleets.
Corporations[edit]
Corporations and organizations active within The Link include:
- Akagi Transport, a sector-wide transport and logistics corporation.
- Durdashilu Li, a sector-wide mining and manufacturing concern.
- Ling Standard Products, an Imperial megacorporation engaged in widescale resource extraction and processing.
- Llelish Interstellar, the Domain's leading media provider.
- Makhidkarun, an Imperial megacorporation specializing in communications and entertainment.
- Naasirka, an Imperial megacorporation that specializes in electronics and robotics.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The Rimward Link and its constituent regions form an important trade route running from the Great Rift, along the border between Daibei Sector and Zarushagar Sector, and into Massilia Sector. High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels move between its worlds, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.
The highest population world in the Expanse, with approximately 100 million inhabitants, is Daisy, an unforgiving vacuum world orbiting a dim red star. The world with the lowest population is Bradley, the site of a tiny outpost with approximately eighty inhabitants.
Demographics[edit]
Significant populations of the following races (sophont species) reside within this astrographic feature:
- Humaniti (Human races)
- Geonee (Minor Human Race): Primarily found within the trailing end of the main.
- Mixed heritage (Major Race): Widely spread across the main.
- Solomani (Major Race): Many genetically distinct individuals and communities.
- Vilani (Major Race): Many genetically distinct individuals and communities.
- Non-Human Races
- Chirpers (Minor Race): Where there are (married) Geonee, there are Chirpers.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Irkonee: The predominate language of the Geonee.
- Oynprith, a ceremonial and ritualistic language apparently universal among Droyne and Chirper communities.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
Timeline[edit]
Major events that have affected this trade route and the wider region that it lies within:
- circa -250,000: the Ancients are active within the sectors it passes through.
- -9235: the Vilani discover jump drive technology. Over the centuries pioneers and settlers gradually spread across Charted Space.
- -5400 to -4015: the Vilani Consolidation Wars.
- -4045 to -2204: the Ziru Sirka claims and settles worlds across the region.
- -2404 to -2215: the Interstellar Wars.
- -2204 to -1776: the Rule of Man administers the worlds of the region.
- -1776 to 0: the Long Night.
- The Year 0: the Third Imperium is founded.
- 300-420: the Imperial First Survey charts the region.
- 604-622: the Civil War.
- 624: the Express Boat Network is established.
- 800-820: the Psionics Suppressions.
- 995-1065: the Imperial Second Survey charts the region.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published. Information about the region becomes widely available.
