Stard is a nonindustrial vacuum world, which warrants hazardous environment precautions.

  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Vaait Subsector of Massilia Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
  • It is a mainworld which is a satellite of either a gas giant or another world.
  • It is a member of the Keum Cluster region of the Greater Massilia Main.
  • During the Long Night it lay within the Rebin Empire's sphere of influence.
  • At the founding of the Imperium this world was known as Gaapag.
  • This world was colonized by and is controlled from Keum.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Stard is a major moon of a large gas giant named Fitz.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Stard is a Small World between 900km and 2,400km in diameter. The world has very low gravity between 0.05G and 0.09G. The horizon will appear about 2km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Stard has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Stard has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Stard is a member of the Keum Cluster region of the Greater Massilia Main, a major Main and important trade route lying across parts of Massilia Sector and Zarushagar Sector.

The Rebin Empire[edit]

During the Long Night this world fell within the Rebin Empire's sphere of influence. It benefitted from trade agreements and defense policies imposed by the Empire, but it struggled with the Empire's unilateral decision-making, interference in its internal affairs, occasional military interventions, and most significantly its views on gender roles. The Empire gradually disintegrated in the centuries before the founding of the Third Imperium, with interstellar trade slowly dying off and some of the worlds it had overseen becoming depopulated.

  • It was considered a Provincial World by the Empire and was afforded fewer rights and protections.
  • The worlds that the Empire controlled or interacted with have a distinct Rebin cultural flavor to the present day.
  • Despite its many shortcomings, the Rebin Empire was overall considered a force for good and most worlds are proud of their association with it.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Stard has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Stard has a population of 600,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The most commonly heard languages are:

Locals speak with a distinctive Rebin accent.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Stard possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Stard has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.

It is a colony of Keum and is directly administered by the government of that world.

World Law (L)[edit]

Stard has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors).

Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]

Stard, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: -1 (unimportant)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: D (very abundant)
  • Labor: 4 (tens of thousands)
  • Infrastructure: 3 (very limited)
  • Efficiency: +1 (average)

World Culture[edit]

  • Heterogenity: 7 (discordant)
  • Acceptance: 4 (extremely aloof)
