- It has 65 member systems.
- 55 of these lie within Massilia Sector.

Regions[edit]
The Main has seven distinct regions:
- The Aklan Cluster. The far trailing part of the Main.
- The Giirsha Cluster. A group of systems forming the coreward-trailing part of the Main.
- The Hermes Spur. A small arm extending generally to spinward-coreward.
- The Ortega Arm. A meandering arm of systems extending to rimward.
- The Parahee Arm. A chain of systems extending to rimward.
- The Pohkrow-Waize Arm. A group of systems lying to far spinward.

Fleets operating along the Main include the 6th, 65th, 66th, 138th, and 146th Fleets in Massilia Sector and the 117th Fleet in Delphi Sector.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Despite its name, the Khavle Main does not include the the world of Khavle and no part of it passes through Khavle Subsector, in Diaspora Sector.
The etymology of the name is Vilani and is related to the term Khaalab-mada, meaning archipelago or group of islands.
- The names of the Main, the world, and the subsector have similar etymological origins.
The spinward regions of the Main were explored by the Geonee soon after they acquired jump technology. The presence of relatively large numbers of Geonee among its worlds has earned it the unofficial title Geonee Main.
High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels move along the Main, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.
Demographics[edit]
Significant populations of the following races (sophont species) are found along this trade route:
- Humaniti (Human races)
- Geonee (Minor Human Race): A number of significant communities and multiple smaller enclaves.
- Mixed heritage (Major Race): Widely spread across the main.
- Solomani (Major Race): Many genetically distinct individuals and communities.
- Vilani (Major Race): Many genetically distinct individuals and communities.
- Non-Human Races
- Chirpers (Minor Race): Where there are (married) Geonee, there are Chirpers.
- Llyrnians (Minor Race): Troglodytic, naturally armored trilateral sophonts usually in the employ of Geonee interests.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Irkonee, the primary language of the Geonee.
- Native Llyrnian languages.
- Oynprith, a ceremonial and ritualistic language apparently universal among Chirper communities.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
