• It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
• It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
• This world has few prospects for significant economic development. The inhabitants of this world lead a bleak existence.
• It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Lode Subsector of Zarushagar Sector in the Domain of Ilelish.

Itane is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

Itane has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. This atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds, which requires the use of a Filter Respirator Combination Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Itane has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

History & Background (Dossier)

Itane is a member of the Urak-Talamein Arm region of the Sylean Main, a major Main and important trade route crossing through parts of Core Sector, Dagudashaag Sector, Massilia Sector, and Zarushagar Sector.

At the founding of the Imperium, Itane was a strategically important (if low value) system that warranted a small naval base. Though those days are long past, the base remains as a testing and research station for both Navy-contracted weapon manufacturers and those that use the small world as a testing range.

World Starport (St)

Itane has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

• This world hosts a Naval Base associated with the Imperial 163rd Fleet.

Itane has a population of 6,000,000 sophonts (millions).

• This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

Itane has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
