The 163rd Fleet is the Numbered Imperial fleet serving the Third Imperium stationed in the Lode Subsector of the Zarushagar Sector.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

The fleet in composed of fourteen squadrons. The wealth of naval anchorages has lead to slightly smaller squadrons. The majority of the facilities are advanced and the shipyards are capable of extensive repair and overhauls.

There are a significant number of non-human aliens serving in this fleet. Several alien cultures have been permitted to sell ships to imperial procurement as a gesture of goodwill. As result there are some unusual classes and designs among the squadrons. Separate logistical contracts have been required to keep these unique designs in working order over the years. Most are minor combatants by imperial standards. Some are outfitted for non-human crew. A few are biomechanical and grown.

The cargo carriers are referred to as galleons. The fighting classes include warsloops, brigs, frigates, an imperial cruiser sized monster called a ship of the line. There are yawls for troop transport. Some ships have been brought in from sectors away. The admiralty takes a dim view of this exercise. The motley assortment bothers some purists, but the resourceful officers have crafted units that take advantage of the special talents some of these ships and their non-human crews bring to the table.
