Ekaez is a poor, low-population desert world with a population less than 10,000 sophonts in population size.
- This world has no free-standing water.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by Vargr sophonts located in the Terruerr Subsector of Gzaekfueg Sector.
- It is a main world which is a satellite of either a gas giant or another world.
- This is a tidally-locked world with one side permanently locked to a gravity source and the other permanently facing away. Most commonly locked worlds are natural satellites of a larger planet or gas giant.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or over technology standards for Charted Space.
- This world-system hosts a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Ekaez has a solitary primary star named Red Drop.
- It is a red main sequence.

Mainworld Data[edit]
Ekaez is the only moon of an exotic atmosphere bigworld, which is itself tidally locked to the system primary.
- Ekaez is an anomaly of stellar placement: its curious orbital dynamics brought about the establishment of a scientific outpost, which in turn attracted traders and settlers.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Ekaez is a Small World between 900km and 2,400km in diameter. The world has very low gravity between 0.05G and 0.09G. The horizon will appear about 2km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Ekaez has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Respirator Combination Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Ekaez has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]
Ekaez is the only moon of a tidally locked exotic atmosphere bigworld orbiting the primary star at 0.23 AU.
- The bigworld's axial tilt is 90° to the plane of the system, with Ekaez orbiting around it's equator.
- The northern magnetic poles of both worlds face towards the star.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Ekaez reached TL-15 , the highest benchmark in the sector in those years, just before the release of the Wolvesbane Project from the Second Empire of Gashikan. The geneered virus plague that slaughtered every Vargr in Gashikan Sector was halted by a quarantine which saved those Vargr outside the sector. But long reaching vessels jumping the quarantine lines inadvertently transported Wolvesbane from the infected Drr'lana Network to Ekaez via Ikfu (Gzaekfueg 3205) to the decimation of the high-tech Vargr population. Though this vessel did not stop at Ikfu, thus saving the Pre-High population there, it refueled and continued on to Ekaez.
The desert Satellite world of Ekaez was sterilized of Vargr. Corpses littered the cities on the tiny moon of a tilted BigWorld in Orbit 0 about a M0 main sequence Red star. So swift was the infection and the world caught unawares that the entire stellar cluster remained ignorant of the calamity until late -1426 Imperial calendar. Recognizing Wolvesbane had slaughtered the Vargr on the mainworld, fearful ships left orbit and spread news that Ekaez was to be listed as a Die Back (Di) world, a victim of the Wolvebane Project.
Only the bravest illegal scavenger operations dared to land on sand-covered Ekaez and pick through the ruined Satellite world for Ekaez had been rumored to breach TL 15 before the epidemic of Wolvesbane. The Desert moon lay fallow for centuries with fears that the infamous bioweapon may still be contagious.
In 1105, Vargr Sophontologists and technical teams from nearby Ghatoets (Gzaekfueg 2803) secured funding from their rulers on Aka (Gzaekfueg 2802) for a clandestine expedition to Ekaez. The lure of Tech-15 secrets laying fallow in dormant data stores was enough to sign off on the probe mission. By this time, it was assumed that the Twilight Zone world would have either baked or frozen clean any remnant Wolvesbane, should the geneered virus still be active. The teams contracted a vessel of Travellers willing to transport them to the Die Back world.
Though its atmosphere is Thin and Tainted as a result of the ruined civilization destroyed by Wolvesbane, Ekaez does have a deep crust chasm where the atmosphere thickens enough to breathe with a simpler Filter device. The ruins in this chasm are the most intact as they are shadowed and sheltered from the harsh red glare of the main sequence Red star. This chasm also features the hangars of the centuries-old Naval Base that was adjacent to the Downport and Startown ruins located at the mouth of the chasm.
While the mainworld Ekaez is a Desert satellite, it is not without water in various storage tanks across surface ruins. Before Wolvesbane, the Vargr here used extensive hydroponics in the Twilight region about the equator, often in the shade of mountains shielding the farms from the harshest hours of the star’s glare.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Ekaez Hollowport has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Ekaez has population of 800 sophonts (hundreds).
- This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without moderate outside assistance. This may represent a large transient population such as the crew of a fleet of starships, the dwindling remnants of a dying colony, a construction team building a new colony, or an outpost that could evolve into a colony.
- The population entirely consists of Vargr.
- Before its calamitous population reduction, Ekaez was home to large populations of Urzaeng and Suedzuk Vargr.
The currrent population of the world are relatively new arrivals, having been present for only a few decades. Many operate as scavengers and salvagers, picking through the extensive remains.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Ekaez possesses a Technology Level of TL–15 or TL-F in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Meson Communicators and Pseudo Reality Communications.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, improved collectors, and advanced Fusion+.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Advanced gravcraft.
- Air: Advanced gravcraft and speeders.
- Space: Advanced gravcraft and G-Carriers.
- FTL: Jump Drive-6.
For many years Ekaez was a barren Die Back World.
- A vast repository of advanced knowledge, collected when the world was at its height, is believed to be contained in hidden, centuries-old databanks.
World Government (G)[edit]
Ekaez has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
World Law (L)[edit]
Ekaez has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 1 (ordinary)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 6 (few)

Documents and texts are almost all written in the Urzaeng and Suedzuk languages.
