System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Bathsheba orbits towards the outer edge of its star's habitable zone.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Bathsheba is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Bathsheba has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Bathsheba has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

  • The world's seas are littered with icebergs and pack ice.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Bathsheba is a member of the Yanos Cluster, a cluster and trade route lying within the spinward-coreward quadrant of Canopus Sector.

The huge stars of the Hyades Cluster, a few parsecs away, cause significant interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.

  • The Cluster is clearly visible to the naked eye from the surface of the world.

Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Bathsheba has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Bathsheba has a population of 8,000 sophonts (thousands).

  • This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.
  • The population almost entirely consists of Solomani humans.

Urbanization[edit]

The world's only major town is Uriah, a bustling commercial community built adjacent to the starport and home to most of the world's population. A few smaller settlements, mostly mining communities, exist up to a few hours travel away.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The most commonly heard languages are:

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Bathsheba possesses a Technology Level of TL–5.

World Government (G)[edit]

Bathsheba has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.

The outpost on this world is directly administered by Dione. The Backlands – those regions more than a few hours travel away from the starport – are empty, unclaimed wilderness.

World Law (L)[edit]

Bathsheba has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
