Lenora is an agricultural world with the potential to become an industrial power.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- As a preindustrial world, this planet cannot yet manufacture enough high-technology resources to support a modern, star-faring society. Having to import many manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Vaait Subsector of Massilia Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
- This world has an Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships.
- It is a member of the Keum Cluster region of the Greater Massilia Main.
- During the Long Night it lay within the Rebin Empire's sphere of influence.
- At the founding of the Imperium this world was known as Guumur Lai.
- This world is in the final stages of Terraforming.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)
Stellar Data
Lenora is a binary star system.
- The primary is a yellow main sequence.
- The secondary is a red main sequence.
System Data
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x2 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x3 gas giants.
Mainworld Data
Mainworld Size (S)
Lenora is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)
Lenora has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- The atmospheric taint is the last remnants of the world's previous exotic atmosphere.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)
Lenora has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
History & Background (Dossier)
Lenora is a member of the Keum Cluster region of the Greater Massilia Main, a major Main and important trade route lying across parts of Massilia Sector and Zarushagar Sector.
Lenora has undergone extensive Terraforming, converting the previously exotic atmosphere to a semi-breathable nitrogen-oxygen mix, establishing a generally temperate climate, and introducing multiple lifeforms in order to create a stable, self-maintaining, planet-wide ecosystem.
The Rebin Empire
During the Long Night this world fell within the Rebin Empire's sphere of influence. It benefitted from trade agreements and defense policies imposed by the Empire, but it struggled with the Empire's unilateral decision-making, interference in its internal affairs, occasional military interventions, and most significantly its views on gender roles. The Empire gradually disintegrated in the centuries before the founding of the Third Imperium, with interstellar trade slowly dying off and some of the worlds it had overseen becoming depopulated.
- It was considered a Provincial World by the Empire and was afforded fewer rights and protections.
- The worlds that the Empire controlled or interacted with have a distinct Rebin cultural flavor to the present day.
- Despite its many shortcomings, the Rebin Empire was overall considered a force for good and most worlds are proud of their association with it.
World Starport (St)
Lenora has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- This world is host to a Naval Base.
World Population (P)
Lenora has a population of 30,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).
Linguistic Topography
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
Locals speak with a distinctive Rebin accent.
World Technology Level (T)
Lenora possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)
Lenora has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
World Law (L)
Lenora has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Imperial Landed Nobility
Lenora, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdoms of two members of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight, the Imperial representative to the world.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial baron.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial marquis.
Trade Data
- Importance: 3 (ordinary)
World Economy
- Resources: D (very abundant)
- Labor: 6 (millions)
- Infrastructure: C (very extensive)
- Efficiency: +1 (average)
World Culture
- Heterogenity: 5 (harmonious)
- Acceptance: A (very friendly)
- Strangeness: 3 (somewhat typical)
- Symbols: 8 (somewhat abstract)
