Rayah is a high-population, industrial world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.
- As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
- Its economy is rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to rapidly improve barring outside forces.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
- It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Wovoka Subsector of Aldebaran Sector.
- It is a member of the Wovoka Arch.

Notes
The two stars of the Rayah system have an average separation of 25 AU and orbit a barycenter that lies between them.
- They have an orbital period around one another of approximately 160 standard years.
System Data
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld, orbiting the primary star.
- x8 secondary rocky worlds. Three orbit the primary star, five orbit the secondary star.
- x2 gas giants. Both orbit the primary star.
Mainworld Data
Rayah is tidally locked to its primary star.
- The star is always high in the sky on the bright face, it hangs on horizon in the twilight zone, while the cold dark face is in permanent darkness.
- The world experiences libration - a regular wobble - as it orbits, causing the star to move in the sky.
It orbits within the prime region of its star's habitable zone.
Mainworld Size (S)
Rayah is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)
Rayah has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)
Rayah has 25-35% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants will be recycled.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
Mainworld Data
Rayah is the closest world to the larger M-class star in this binary system, orbiting at 0.2 AU.
It is a relatively dry planet, with a considerable fraction of its water-mass locked into its polar icepacks. There is still moisture accessible in the atmosphere and periodic rainfall in the mountainous regions near the middle latitudes.
There are mountain ranges spread across much of the world, indicating the tectonic plate locations. The mountains in the middle-to-polar latitudes have some ice, snow, and water flows. A thin barrier of water surrounds each of the polar icepacks.
Native Lifeforms
A wide variety of native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
Native species include the Hadhasi, a 35 kg arachnidoid capable of surviving in arid climes. Quick, prehensile, and venomous, it is an effective predator. While its venom is effective only against local fauna, its bite is quite traumatic to most sophonts. Hadhasi use wide-spectrum vision for hunting.
History & Background / Dossier
Initial settling populations were from tribal groups from the Terran Middle East region. These groups broadly self-identified as Turks, Sauds, Iraqis, and Kurds. The name Rayah was chosen from the ancient Terran Arabic language to indicate that they are all part of the same "flock" of God.
World Starport
Rayah has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Technology Level
Rayah possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government
Rayah is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are typically young governments, coming as a recent change, and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.
World Law Level
Rayah has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
