The Ziraa Cluster is a small cluster lying on the border between Delphi Sector and Massilia Sector.
- It is an astrographic feature and a trade route.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Astrography[edit]
The Ziraa Cluster is a small cluster and minor trade route lying across the coreward border between Delphi Sector and Massilia Sector.
- It has 6 member systems: 5 lie within Delphi Sector and 1 lies within Massilia Sector.
- It is named for Ziraa, a relatively backward world which has the cluster's highest population.
A basic overview of the Ziraa Cluster:
(Charts sourced from Traveller Map)
- Worlds within the Cluster are highlighted in brown.
Commercial Data[edit]
The following economic and commercial data has been determined:
Corporations[edit]
Corporations and organizations active within the Cluster include:
- Ling Standard Products, an Imperial megacorporation engaged in widescale resource extraction and processing.
- Makhidkarun, an Imperial megacorporation specializing in communications and entertainment.
- Naasirka, an Imperial megacorporation specializing in sensors, electronics, and robotics.
- Sharurshid, an Imperial megacorporation specializing in finance and commerce.
- Sternmetal Horizons, an Imperial megacorporation primarily engaged in mining operations and manufacturing.
- Tukera Lines, an Imperial megacorporation specializing in transport and logistics.
- Zirunkariish, a Vilani megacorporation specializing in investment, finance, and insurance.
Goods[edit]
Notable local commodities include:
- (none currently listed)
Security & Defense[edit]
The worlds of the Cluster are patrolled by the Imperial Navy. It defends Imperial territory and interests, suppresses piracy, and ensures trade and commerce.
- The Imperial 12th Fleet is active within Delphi Sector and the Imperial 199th Fleet is active within Massilia Sector.
- Imperial vessels may demand customs inspections.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels move along the Cluster, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.
Demographics[edit]
Significant populations of the following races (sophont species) are found along this trade route:
- Humaniti (Human races)
- Mixed heritage (Major Race): widely spread across the main.
- Solomani (Major Race): many genetically distinct individuals and communities.
- Vilani (Major Race): many genetically distinct individuals and communities.
- Non-Humans
- Droyne (Major Race): principally found on Ewoin, a Droyne world, though it is technologically backward and interdicted by the Imperium.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
General Historical Timeline[edit]
Major events that have affected this trade route and the wider region that it lies within:
- circa -250,000: the Ancients are active within the sector.
- -9235: the Vilani discover jump drive technology. Over the centuries pioneers and settlers gradually spread across Charted Space.
- circa -9,000: the Geonee encounter the Vilani.
- -5400 to -4015: the Vilani Consolidation Wars.
- -4678: the Hivers discover jump drive technology.
- -4045 to -2204: the Ziru Sirka claims and settles worlds across the region.
- -2431: Terrans discover jump drive technology.
- -2404 to -2215: the Interstellar Wars. The young Terran Confederation battles against the ancient Vilani Ziru Sirka.
- -2204 to -1776: the Rule of Man administers the worlds of the region.
- -1776 to 0: the Long Night.
- The Year 0: the Third Imperium is founded.
- 76 to 120: The Third Imperium wages the Pacification Campaigns to unify and assimilate the regions under its control.
- 300-420: the Imperial First Survey charts the region.
- 604-622: the Civil War.
- 624: the Express Boat Network is established.
- 704: the Solomani Autonomous Region is formed.
- 800-820: the Psionics Suppressions.
- 871: the Solomani Confederation is founded.
- 940: the Solomani Autonomous Region is dissolved.
- 990-1002: the Solomani Rim War.
- 995-1065: the Imperial Second Survey charts the region.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published. Information about the region becomes widely available.
Worlds & Sectors (Astrography)[edit]
This astrographic feature is found in the following areas:
Charted Space – Third Imperium
World Listing[edit]
Comprehensive Second Survey data for all worlds that are members of the Ziraa Cluster is available.
- The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
- Other sources may differ: some elements of the data may be contradictory or incorrect.
- Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.
AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:
| startbacknext(6 listed) |
Note that some Second Survey data, though only 40 years old, may already be out of date.
- Scouting missions gathering reliable, verified data can receive substantial payment.
