St. George is an agricultural world with the potential to become an industrial power.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- As a preindustrial world, this planet cannot yet manufacture enough high-technology resources to support a modern, star-faring society. Having to import many manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Lode Subsector of Zarushagar Sector in the Domain of Ilelish.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- This is a "Puzzle" world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.
- It lies within the Lode Cluster.
- It is the adopted homeworld of the Bo'daan, a Variant Human Race group.
- It is known to the locals as Ana Bo'deen.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x6 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Non-canon:
St. George (also known as Ana Bo'deen to its inhabitants) is a predominantly temperate world, with its surface divided roughly equally between land and water.
It is one of nine planets orbiting the two stars, occupying the fifth orbital position around the pair and lying within the habitable zone.
- The two stars produce substantially more illumination and UV radiation than Sol.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
St. George is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
The world is noted as having a slightly lower-than-average gravity, with a surface gravity of 0.88 G.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
St. George has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. While a Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences generally moderate temperatures.
The dense nitrogen-oxygen atmosphere is rich in carbon dioxide, causing a greenhouse effect that enhances the growth rate of flora and crops.
- The atmosphere is tainted with fungal spores that can cause migraines, mild hallucinations, or feelings of euphoria to offworlders (especially in certain species of non-humans).
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
St. George has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Satellites[edit]
St. George retains a single bluish green-tinged moon named Hydraea.
- It orbits once every few weeks.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
St. George has deep oceans, two major continental landmasses, and many large islands and archipelagos, while the colder polar regions have permanent ice caps. The world's many highland regions are rugged and picturesque and the lowlands and wetlands are lush with vegetation, including vast forests and jungles overgrown with spore-bearing funguses and lichens.
A basic map of St. George showing the division between land, the oceans, and the icecaps.
- The starport is marked by a red cross.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The planet is home to a diverse array of animal life, most notably:
- Cha'rrool: a reptillianoid, eel-like creature which can grow to enormous size. It is typically found in lakes or shallow coastal waters and is able to slither on solid ground like a serpent for short periods of time. It is also known as the Georgen Dragon Eel or Georgen Sea Wyrm.
- Itsa'tsarik: a small, winged, semi-aquatic, reptillianoid creature with characteristics similar to those of a Terran monkey. It can be found in nests scattered along temperate coasts and are sometimes kept as pets. It is also known as the Georgen Dragonet.
- Aeiroth: a large sure-footed beast resembling a Terran musk-ox. It is covered in shaggy fur that is usually green-tinged and is raised by locals as livestock. It is also known as the Georgen Ox.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
St. George is a Puzzle World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.
- Visitors are advised to act with caution.
It is a member of the Lode Cluster, a cluster and trade route lying across the border between Massilia Sector and Zarushagar Sector.
The system is sometimes referred to as Alpha Draconis or Thuban, even though Szoandra, the primary star, is not the stellar object with the same name that can be seen from night skies of Terra. Thuban literally means the head of the serpent; the system is part of the constellation Draco, and is located along the border between the Gaussi and Lode Subsectors of Zarushagar Sector.
The Bo'daan[edit]
Semi-canon:
The Bo'daan (or Bo'daani), as the inhabitants are known, are a Variant Human Race group whose ancestors were genetically altered and who are now fully adapted to the harsh upland conditions of their homeworld. The population almost universally live at higher altitudes, where the air is thinner and the amount of airborne spores is significantly lower: they have an increased lung and blood oxygen capacity, giving them more endurance for strenuous tasks. Bo'daan have little need for filter masks or other devices to assist breathing, though they tend to feel mildly intoxicated in the much more oxygen-rich lowlands. Skin coloration tends towards dark to very dark reddish-brown shades, and most individuals display distinct epicanthic eye folds which help protect against the higher than normal UV radiation from the star.
As a result of their environmental adaptations, the Bo'daani seem stronger, tougher, and more agile than baseline humans in lower pressure environments. Though culturally distinct, they appear to be closely related to the Darmine of Ishag and likely share a similar origin and ancestry. Coincidentally, Bo'daani share their naming conventions with the Malagasy people of ancient Terra, with children taking their mother's surname. There are exceptions, such as the occasional "rebel" who chooses a descriptive (usually Anglic or Vilani) name as a means of defying tradition.
World Starport (St)[edit]
St. George has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
St. George has a population of 50,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).
Urbanization[edit]
The planetary capital, the aptly-named Tanàna S'merda (or Emerald City), located on a mountainous island of marbled green rock named Ilsa de S'mera, is a high-tech metropex filled with parks and botanical gardens. It controls the Class B Starport downport facilities on the continental mainland, to the west, and administers the highport in orbit around the planet.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Local Bo'daani languages.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
St. George possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-2.
World Government (G)[edit]
St. George is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
World Law (L)[edit]
St. George has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]
St. George, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdoms of two members of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight, the Imperial representative to the world.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial baron.
