System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Shume is the satellite of a gas giant.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Shume is a Small World between 4,000km and 5,600km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.24G and 0.34G. The horizon will appear about 3km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Shume has a pressure of less than 0.1 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Shume has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Shume is part of the Suerrat Cultural Region and notable as the headquarters of the Suerrat corporation Shume Biogenetics.

It is a Puzzle World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.

  • Visitors are advised to act with caution.

Llelish Interstellar, the leading media corporation within Ilelish Sector, maintains extensive facilities and offices on the world.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Shume has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Shume has a population of 90,000,000,000 sophonts (tens of billions).

  • High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
  • Around 80 billion Suerrat (making up around 90% of the population) reside on the world.

Languages[edit]

The following languages are most typically heard:

Urbanization[edit]

Suerrat cities are very crowded. Suerrat populations are at a density where other species find the mental health of the inhabitants deteriorates; by contrast, Suerrat thrive in these conditions.

  • Suerrat like natural surroundings and will incorporate vegetation and even small animals into their urban areas, wherever possible.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Shume possesses a Technology Level of TL–15 or TL-F in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Shume is governed by a Charismatic Oligarchy, like a charismatic dictatorship in that a larger group has asserted their right to rule. The group will have better rules of succession and may last longer or may transition to a non-charismatic dictatorship.

World Law (L)[edit]

Shume has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. Most worlds with this law level may be an Amber Zone or Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). All aspects of life rigidly controlled. There is no difference between the police and the military. This world is a full-fledged police state. Oppression is legalized, though not routine.

Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]

Shume, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of three members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.
