Nineteen is a nonindustrial, fluidic hellworld with a population struggling to survive in an inhospitable environment.
- A fluid world has an oceanic geography consisting of heavily contaminated water or a substance such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquid.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Zarn Subsector of Canopus Sector.
- It orbits the system's secondary star.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
- This is a cold world with an overall climate that is at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance.
- This world-system has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
- It is a member of the Zarn Cluster.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Nineteen is a binary star system.
- The primary is a white main sequence.
- The secondary is a red main sequence.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld, orbiting the red secondary star.
- x4 secondary rocky worlds, all orbiting the red secondary star.
- x1 planetoid belt. It has a circumbinary orbit, lying in the far outer system at approximately 30 AU from the primary.
- x2 gas giants. Both are hot gas giants orbiting close to the white primary star.
- Skimming hydrogen from them is extremely hazardous.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Nineteen is tidally locked to the system's secondary star.
- The star is always high in the sky on the bright face, it hangs on horizon in the twilight zone, while the cold dark face is in permanent darkness.
- The world experiences libration - a regular wobble - as it orbits, causing the star to move in the sky.
It orbits towards the outer edge of the star's habitable zone.
- It receives relatively low levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Nineteen is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Nineteen has an Exotic Atmosphere and possesses an unusual gas mix which requires the use of oxygen tanks. Additionally, protective suits, while not necessary, are recommended. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences low temperatures within the twilight zone.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Nineteen has 05-15% of its surface covered by water-ice heavily tainted with other substances, which makes it dangerous, corrosive, or toxic. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds may be Hell Worlds.
- The water on the surface may be unsuitable for use or consumption without extensive filtering and purification.
- Refining for fuel may cause issues with shipboard purification plants.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Nineteen is a member of the Zarn Cluster, a backwater cluster and minor trade route principally lying within Canopus Sector.
Although it lies within the territory of the Confederation, the world is not officially a member of that state, choosing instead to remain as a technically neutral world. Despite its neutral status, it relies on the Confederation for trade and defense and actively cooperates with Solomani interests.
Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Nineteen has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
- This world is host to a Confederation Naval Base.
World Population (P)[edit]
Nineteen has a population of 70,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- The population almost entirely consists of Solomani humans.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Rim Anglic, a dialect of Anglic and the principal language of the Confederation.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Nineteen possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Advanced automobiles.
- Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
- Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
- Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government (G)[edit]
Nineteen is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.
World Law (L)[edit]
Nineteen has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Machine guns, other automatic weapons, portable energy weapons, and other military weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.

- Resources: 7 (few)
- Labor: 3 (thousands)
