Description (Specifications)[edit]

New Holland is Solomani Confederation space.

Subsector Summary: 1116[edit]

New Holland, subsector O of Alpha Crucis, contains 29 worlds with an estimated combined population of 13 billion, a per capita income of Cr4,452, and a total economy of BCr59,636. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr139 through 23 starports (4 Class A, 7 Class B, 8 Class C, 4 Class D) employing 20,885 people. Driving this interstellar trade are six Agricultural (Ag) worlds, six Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, four Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, no Rich (Ri) worlds, and three Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in New Holland maintain four Military bases and three Naval bases. The average technology level is 10 (with most between 7 and 12). The highest technology level is 14 at Waal (Alpha Crucis 1834), Terschelling (Alpha Crucis 1836), Cyclades (Alpha Crucis 2039), Keine (Alpha Crucis 2132), and Burton (Alpha Crucis 2234).

New Holland, subsector O of Alpha Crucis, contains 46 stars and 318 identified planets; 13 monostellar systems, 15 binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 21 of the 29 systems (72%) have native gas giants. There are one Asteroid (As) belt, no Desert (De) worlds, no Garden (Ga) worlds, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, two Poor (Po) worlds, seven Vacuum (Va) worlds, and three Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

New Holland has an estimated population of 13 billion distributed across five High population (Hi) worlds, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 16 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, four Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Caldron (Alpha Crucis 2335), Brookwall (Alpha Crucis 2435), Neubund (Alpha Crucis 1738), Narnia (Alpha Crucis 2236), and Maas (Alpha Crucis 1935). The population consists primarily of 3 sophont groups.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Much of New Holland was only settled following the establishment of a long-awaited X-boat link in the 1020s, although a few isolated colonies have existed since the Terran Confederation era.

Security & Defense[edit]

The worlds of the region are patrolled by the Solomani Navy. It defends Confederation territory, protects Confederation interests, suppresses piracy, and ensures interstellar trade and commerce.

The Solomani Navy operates couriers and packet ships to carry communications and mail within the Confederation. Some of the routes they make use of predate the founding of the Solomani Autonomous Region in the early 8th Century, while others have more modern origins, being established following the Solomani Rim War and Solomani independence.

  • Multiple communications routes cross the subsector.
