Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Velscur is a Small World between 900km and 2,400km in diameter. The world has very low gravity between 0.05G and 0.09G. The horizon will appear about 2km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Velscur has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Velscur has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]

Through paraterraforming, the Selenites have turned Velscur into a self-sufficient 'worldhouse'.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

No information yet available.

Native Sophont (NIL): Selenite[edit]

The Selenites are human beings, engineered to survive in the microgravities of space habitats. They have experienced explosive population growth and their numbers now make them a force to contend with.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Velscur is a high-population, industrial vacuum world, considered the first Selenite paraterraformed world-colony and thus their racial "homeworld".

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Velscur has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

  • Self-sufficient and insular like most Selenite worlds, Velscur supports underdeveloped port facilities.

World Population (P)[edit]

Velscur has a population of 6,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).

World Government (G)[edit]

Velscur is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

World Military[edit]

No information yet available.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

Velscur has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Velscur possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Economy[edit]

No information yet available.

Trade Data[edit]

No information yet available.

World Culture[edit]

Most Selenites are deeply uncomfortable outside an environment that can be neatly controlled. Being outdoors on a 'wild' planet is unsettling to them, and sudden rain or even a strong gust of wind might provoke panicked demands for reassurance.
