Description (Specifications)[edit]

The entire subsector lies within the borders of the Solomani Confederation, although eleven of the worlds here are non-aligned.

Chartres, Montserrat, and Cologne are members of the Consolidation of Turin.

Subsector Summary: 1116[edit]

Veracruz, subsector J of Alpha Crucis, contains 32 worlds with an estimated combined population of 7 billion, a per capita income of Cr6,092, and a total economy of BCr44,574. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr154 through 29 starports (4 Class A, 12 Class B, 7 Class C, 6 Class D) employing 24,630 people. Driving this interstellar trade are seven Agricultural (Ag) worlds, five Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, five Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, three Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Veracruz maintain five Naval bases and three Military bases. The average technology level is 10 (with most between 8 and 13). The highest technology level is 14 at Dodge (Alpha Crucis 0926), Minot (Alpha Crucis 1023), Vogar (Alpha Crucis 1223), Boissevain (Alpha Crucis 1325), Tuxpan (Alpha Crucis 1327), and Zbaraz (Alpha Crucis 1429).

Veracruz, subsector J of Alpha Crucis, contains 47 stars and 373 identified planets; 17 monostellar systems, 15 binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 24 of the 32 systems (75%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, no Desert (De) worlds, four Garden (Ga) worlds, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, three Poor (Po) worlds, eight Vacuum (Va) worlds, and two Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Veracruz has an estimated population of 7 billion distributed across one High population (Hi) world, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 14 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, nine Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Velscur (Alpha Crucis 1530). The population consists primarily of 3 sophont groups including one native sophont.

Solomani Confederation[edit]

The Solomani Confederation has jurisdiction over 22 worlds in the subsector with an estimated combined population of 7 billion, a per capita income of Cr6,095, and a total economy of BCr44,529. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr133 through 20 starports (3 Class A, 8 Class B, 5 Class C, 4 Class D) employing 21,500 people. Driving this interstellar trade are six Agricultural (Ag) worlds, five Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, one Pre-Agricultural (Pa) world, five Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, two Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in the Solomani Confederation maintain three Naval bases and three Military bases within the subsector. The average technology level is 10 (with most between 8 and 13). The highest technology level is 14 at Dodge (Alpha Crucis 0926), Minot (Alpha Crucis 1023), Boissevain (Alpha Crucis 1325), Tuxpan (Alpha Crucis 1327), Zbaraz (Alpha Crucis 1429), and Ebano (Alpha Crucis 1629).

The Solomani Confederation has an estimated population of 7 billion within the subsector, distributed across one High population (Hi) world, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, eight Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, six Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Velscur (Alpha Crucis 1530). The population consists primarily of 2 sophont groups including one native sophont.

Non-Aligned, Human-dominated[edit]

There are ten Non-Aligned Human-dominated worlds in Veracruz with an estimated combined population of 11 million.

  • One of these worlds, Vogar, is -- despite the NaHu label -- actually politically dominated by Dolphins.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Veracruz was settled thousands of years ago, in part by the legendary Alpha Crucis Foundation under the Terran Confederation. Almost all of subsector’s inhabitants are pure Solomani, most originally of European, North African and American ancestry. The Church of the First Cross is quite popular in the rimward regions, and the Solomani Catholic Church in the coreward areas.

Security & Defense[edit]

The worlds of the region are patrolled by the Solomani Navy. It defends Confederation territory, protects Confederation interests, suppresses piracy, and ensures interstellar trade and commerce.

The Solomani Navy operates couriers and packet ships to carry communications and mail within the Confederation. Some of the routes they make use of predate the founding of the Solomani Autonomous Region in the early 8th Century, while others have more modern origins, being established following the Solomani Rim War and Solomani independence.

  • Multiple communications routes cross the subsector.
