Ma is a low-population garden world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts.
- It is a garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most forms of sophontic life.
- Both the population and economy of this world are expected to grow in the near future barring outside forces.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Sydymic Subsector of Ley Sector.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- This dangerous world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it dangerous to visitors.
- The population statistics only include humans present on the world.
Description / Astrography & Planetology[edit]
Ma is the homeworld of the Mahkahraik, a sophont minor race.
It is located on the edge of the Lesser Rift.
Stellar Data[edit]
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x10 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x3 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Ma orbits within the prime region of its star's habitable zone.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Ma is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Ma has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
- It experiences generally moderate temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Ma has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
A supercontinental landmass dominates the inhabited region of Ma.
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The Sydymic Outworlds cluster provides a Jump-2 link to this otherwise isolated system.
Ma was first settled by Humans deep in the Long Night. These Humans came to control certain Mahkahraik tribes thanks to their advanced technology. The world eventually became a conquest of the Sydymic Empire, and when the Sydites left following their defeat by the Third Imperium, the remnants of the old Human elite tried to reclaim their place as planetary overlords. Some of the Mahkahraik sepoy tribes rallied to their old allegiance, some remained neutral, and some fought back, assisted by ex-mercenaries. In time, a truce allowed the Humans and whatever tribes wanted to ally with them to claim ownership of a small coastal region, with the rest of the planet recognized as belonging to the traditionalist Mahkahraik.
Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World Starport[edit]
Ma (Le 3021) has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
The current port facility dates to the Sydymic Empire.
Population[edit]
By the 990s, the Human population numbered only 50, and it was expected that the next generation would be the last. These overlords dwelt in a fort-town around the old Sydite port, and had a sustainable tech base of about TL-6. They claimed the loyalty of around a million native Mahkahraik.
Most Mahkahraik lived independently elsewhere.
World Demographics[edit]
The UWP for this mainworld is only an indication of the known Human population; the native Mahkahraik sophonts are not counted in the current UWP statistics.
World Technology Level[edit]
Ma (Le 3021) possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fission power generation, advanced water and wind generation of electricity.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, early ATV's, and dedicated AFV's.
- Water: Amphibious vehicles, improved submersibles, and early SCUBA gear.

These positions are inherited by member of the group or their family members. The organization may be a monarchy, with titles passed to family members, or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Alternatively, the organization may be a more typical government apparatus, only with positions of power inherited.
