A majority of systems in Ekoop Subsector are claimed by an unusually moderate and alien-tolerant K'kree state that serves as a client to the Two Thousand Worlds.

Subsector Summary: 1116[edit]

Ekoop, subsector O of Star's End, contains 31 worlds with an estimated combined population of 22 billion, a per capita income of Cr2,661, and a total economy of BCr58,842. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr1,594 through 15 starports (5 Class A, 3 Class B, 4 Class C, 3 Class D) employing 195,060 people. Driving this interstellar trade are two Agricultural (Ag) worlds, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, one Pre-Agricultural (Pa) world, two Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, two Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Ekoop maintain five Military bases and four Naval bases. The average technology level is 4 (with most between 0 and 8). The highest technology level is 12 at K'r (Star's End 2340).

Ekoop, subsector O of Star's End, contains 44 stars and 378 identified planets; 19 monostellar systems, 11 binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 27 of the 31 systems (87%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, six Desert (De) worlds, no Garden (Ga) worlds, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, eight Poor (Po) worlds, three Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.

Ekoop has an estimated population of 22 billion distributed across three High population (Hi) worlds, three Moderate population (Ph) worlds, three Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, four Low population (Lo) worlds, and 16 Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Kr!'rreeng (Star's End 2039) and Lera (Star's End 2236). The population consists primarily of 3 sophont groups.

  • 312: A clade of Jgd-il-Jagd establishes itself in the region.
  • 425-432: Across the sector border immediately to rimward, in Gateway Sector, the Hochiken Republic is established after a series of workers' revolts against the Vanadian Cartel.
  • 590: To the K'kree settlements' initial alarm, the Hochiken government is taken over by a military coup, becoming the Hochiken People's Assembly.
