Dalsgaard is a low-population garden world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts.
- It is a garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most forms of sophontic life.
- Both the population and economy of this world are expected to grow in the near future barring outside forces.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Kerr Subsector of Massilia Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- It is a member of the Yagas Arm region of the Greater Massilia Main.
- At the founding of the Imperium this world was known as Yabean.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x12 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Dalsgaard is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Dalsgaard has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
- It experiences generally moderate temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Dalsgaard has 65-75% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Satellites[edit]
Dalsgaard retains two small moons named Fidora and Shemmani.
- They orbit once every few days.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
A basic map of Dalsgaard showing the division between land and water, the small polar icecaps, and major highland regions.
- Dalsgaard is geologically active: major volcanic regions are indicated.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant primitive native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The most notable land lifeforms are greenmats, huge expanses of photosynthetic slime formed from types of symbiotic microflora. Most animal life is primitive and limited to the oceans.
- A number of aquatic species have begun to colonize the land, the most significant of which are snapworms, 0.3 meter long slug-like creatures that graze on the carpets of greenmats. Snapworms live in large colonies and are territorial and aggressive, though by human standards they are very slow-moving and equally slow to react. They have a beak-like trefoil mouth located on their underside which can snap closed with surprising force.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Dalsgaard is a member of the Yagas Arm region of the Greater Massilia Main, a major Main and important trade route lying across parts of Massilia Sector and Zarushagar Sector.
At the dawn of the Imperium Dalsgaard had almost a million inhabitants but by the 400s it had become largely depopulated. The last few residents were moved offworld and the world was designated an Imperial Reserve to preserve its resources for future exploitation. An orbital port was constructed in the mid 900s and at the end of the first millennium Dalsgaard was opened to development. A few mining contracts have been awarded to local companies.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Dalsgaard has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
Dalsgaard's starport is orbital: no surface facilities exist. A small surface facility is being planned.
World Population (P)[edit]
Dalsgaard has a population of 20 sophonts (tens).
- This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without significant outside assistance. This may represent a transient population such as the crew of a starship, the final survivors of a dying colony, an advance team setting up to receive colonists, or a small outpost where establishing a colony is not the primary objective.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Dalsgaard possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
World Government (G)[edit]
Dalsgaard has no central government or substantial government apparatus; an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
World Law (L)[edit]
Dalsgaard has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.
Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]
Dalsgaard, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world.

- Importance: 1 (ordinary)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 5 (scarce)
- Labor: 0 (none available)
- Infrastructure: 1 (extremely limited)
- Efficiency: -3 (poor)
World Culture[edit]
- Heterogenity: 1 (monolithic)
- Acceptance: 2 (very xenophobic)
- Strangeness: 1 (very typical)
- Symbols: 7 (somewhat concrete)
