Acuate is an industrial, high-population fluidic world with a billion or more sophonts.
- A fluid world has an oceanic geography consisting of heavily contaminated water or a substance such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquid.
- As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
- It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Muscida Subsector of Canopus Sector.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
- This is a hot world, with a climate of high temperatures.
- It is a member of the Marrakesh Cluster.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Acuate has a solitary primary star.
- It is an orange main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x4 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
- x3 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Acuate is tidally locked to its primary star.
- The star is always high in the sky on the bright face, it hangs on horizon in the twilight zone, while the cold dark face is in permanent darkness.
- The world experiences libration - a regular wobble - as it orbits, causing the star to move in the sky.
It orbits at the inner edge of its star's habitable zone.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Acuate is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Acuate has an Insidious Atmosphere which requires the use of a Hostile Environment Suit or Vacc Suit, but extreme conditions cause the corrosive effects to defeat any personal protective measures in a few hours. TL–10 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences high temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Acuate has 65-75% of its surface covered by a fluid other than water. Wilderness refueling is not possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds may be Hell Worlds.
- This surface fluid may be ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids depending on the local temperature and environment.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Acuate is a member of the Marrakesh Cluster, a small cluster and minor trade route lying within the rimward-trailing quadrant of Canopus Sector.
Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Acuate has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Acuate has a population of 7,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
- The population almost entirely consists of Solomani humans.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Rim Anglic, a dialect of Anglic and the principal language of the Confederation.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Acuate possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Acuate is governed by a Non-charismatic Dictatorship. This is a continuation of the charismatic dictatorship, where the original leadership has died or retired and been replaced by allies or protégés. The justifications for the original change in government remain as well as the assertion of rights to rule.
World Law (L)[edit]
Acuate has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

- Importance: 2 (ordinary)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: F (extremely abundant)
- Labor: 8 (hundreds of millions)
- Infrastructure: 9 (extensive)
- Efficiency: +4 (advanced)
World Culture[edit]
- Heterogenity: 5 (harmonious)
- Acceptance: B (very friendly)
- Strangeness: 9 (extremely confusing)
- Symbols: 9 (somewhat abstract)
