Land Vehicle
A Land Vehicle is a kind of vehicle or technological device, intended to convey sophonts or cargo from one location to another on or under the land surface.

Description (Specifications)
The earliest Vehicles powered by Dray Beasts or Sophonts are described under Primitive Craft.
Once the power source used to drive the Vehicle is something more sophisticated than these two power sources, this category, Land Vehicle, applies. Similarly, if the technology level required to drive the Land Vehicle is above TL–3, this category applies.
Ground Vehicle
Vehicles that move on the surface of the land.
Sled
Sleds are vehicles that slide across the ground surface. Most are Primitive Craft towed by Dray Beasts but on Iceworlds, these develop into various powered forms.
Wheeled Vehicle
These Vehicles use wheels. Initial designs used no suspension and solid rims. As technology progressed, suspension was introduced and pneumatic tyres appeared. This enabled a faster and better ride.
Tracked Vehicle
These Vehicles use tracks. Initial designs used no suspension. As technology progressed, suspension was introduced. This enabled a faster and better ride. Tracks also gave a great advantage in cross-country performance over wheels at many technology levels, especially if the load to be moved was relatively heavy.
Legged Vehicle
The complexities of the joints and control systems needed for Leg systems meant that these types of vehicles are generally delivered at a higher technology level that the wheeled and tracked options for the same performance. However, they have specialist uses and their performance is uncleared jungle terrain is excellent (by comparison to wheels and tracks)
Rail Vehicle
Rail vehicles are specialist equipment that uses pre-laid track to move over. These vary from wheeled trains to mag-lev technologies. These are especially used in zero-G Asteroid Belt habitations and places where there are deep underground habitations. They also appear as Lifts (Elevators) in tall buildings and stations.
Tunnelling Vehicle
These are those Vehicles that move through rather than over the land. In existing tunnels, any of the standard types used on the surface of a planet can be used. To create tunnels, Tunnelling Vehicles are needed.
Not Ground Vehicles
Grav Vehicles are forms of Aerospace Vessel. Hovercraft are forms of Aircraft.
