A Light Rail Locomotive is used for mass transit of passengers and/or cargo.
- It is a type of civilian vehicle and a type of Railroad Locomotive.
- They have a large number of nicknames including trolleys, cable cars, people movers, trams, metros, and numerous others.
- Their underground cousin is the Subway Train.
- It operates on train networks.
- It is an element of infrastructure.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Light rail networks frequently serve large urbs, metropolises, and dense urban areas. Since they focus on lighter intercity urban traffic, they can be built with less robust tracks, locomotives, and passenger wagons, significantly saving costs and materials compared to their larger, industrial freight carrying cousins.
n.b. Light Rail Locomotives may double as Railroad Carriages when they are named Railcars.
