Notes

The two stars of the Kanazawa system have an average separation of 80 AU and orbit a barycenter that lies between them.

System Data

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

  • The mainworld, orbiting the primary star.
  • x7 secondary rocky worlds. Three orbit the primary star, four orbit the secondary star.
  • x1 gas giant, orbiting the primary star.

History & Background (Dossier)

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Kanazawa is a Forbidden World and is designated as a Red Zone. It presents serious risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that make it extremely dangerous to visitors.

  • Travel to this world is prohibited.

It is a member of the Belicheki Cluster, a large cluster and important trade route lying within the central-coreward part of Neworld Sector.

Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Solomani State and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, while many see it as an act of duty to help protect the the State and its interests.

World Starport (St)

Kanazawa does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.

World Population (P)

Kanazawa has a population of 3,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).

  • High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
  • More than 95% of the population (in excess of 1.43 billion individuals) consists of Solomani humans.
  • Less than 5% of the population (fewer than 150 million individuals) consists of Uplifted Apes.

World Technology Level (T)

Kanazawa possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
    • Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
    • Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
    • Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
    • FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.

World Government (G)

Kanazawa is governed by a Religious Autocracy. This is a direct theocracy where the government head is a single person who is also the head of the religious organization. The Church hierarchy also serves as the government bureaucracy.

World Law (L)

Kanazawa has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. Most worlds with this law level may be an Amber Zone or Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. There is no difference between the police and the military. This world is a full-fledged police state. Oppression is legalized, though not routine.
