Ter-Ritt is a poor, nonindustrial world.

  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • This world has few prospects for economic development.
  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Wolf Subsector of Zarushagar Sector in the Domain of Ilelish.
  • This world has an Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships.
  • It is part of the Darmine Cultural Region.
  • This world was once settled by the Dishaan.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Stellar Data[edit]

Ter-Ritt is a binary star system.

  • The primary is a white main sequence.
  • The secondary is a red main sequence.
Ter-Ritt has two stars in the star system.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Ter-Ritt is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Ter-Ritt has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Ter-Ritt has 25-35% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants will be recycled.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Ter-Ritt is a member of the Schmidt Cluster, a minor trade route in the central-rimward part of Zarushagar Sector.

More than six millennia ago the system was settled by the Dishaan, an aggressive minor race who had gained jump technology from Vilani traders. For a time it was a member of the Ushkaq Sasutxi, the Dishaan Hegemony: when that fractious state was absorbed by the expanding Ziru Sirka during the Consolidation Wars, those Dishaan present in the system were removed and returned to Provalan, their homeworld. The system (along with Skaob-heti and Kdept) was a meeting point between the Dishaan and the Darmine, who had also received knowledge of jump technology from the Vilani. The expanding Ziru Sirka rapidly put a stop to their contact.

  • Artifacts dating from the pre-Vilani Dishaan era are highly sought after and command premium prices.
  • Looting of historical sites carries heavy penalties.

The world never became part of Darmine Space despite its proximity to the Darmine homeworld and its location within the Schmidt Cluster, considered a Darmine heartland.

It is a part of the Darmine Cultural Region, created within rimward Zarushagar Sector by order of Emperor Artemsus in the years immediately following the Ilelish Pacification Campaign.

It is believed by some that the name originates from a dialect of Kadli, the principal language of the Darmine, though others dispute this.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Ter-Ritt has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Ter-Ritt has a population of 60,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The most commonly heard languages are:

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Ter-Ritt possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Ter-Ritt is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.

World Law (L)[edit]

Ter-Ritt has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.

Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]

Ter-Ritt, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world.
