System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Golden Ring is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Golden Ring has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. While a Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Golden Ring has 75-85% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few large continents and extensive islands. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Golden Ring is a member of the Outer Loop region of the Greater Massilia Main, a major Main and important trade route lying across parts of Massilia Sector and Zarushagar Sector.

The Rebin Empire[edit]

During the Long Night this world fell within the Rebin Empire's sphere of influence. It benefitted from trade agreements and defense policies imposed by the Empire, but it struggled with the Empire's unilateral decision-making, interference in its internal affairs, occasional military interventions, and most significantly its views on gender roles. The Empire gradually disintegrated in the centuries before the founding of the Third Imperium, with interstellar trade slowly dying off and some of the worlds it had overseen becoming depopulated.

  • It was considered a Provincial World by the Empire and was afforded fewer rights and protections.
  • The worlds that the Empire controlled or interacted with have a distinct Rebin cultural flavor to the present day.
  • Despite its many shortcomings, the Rebin Empire was overall considered a force for good and most worlds are proud of their association with it.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Golden Ring has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Golden Ring has a population of 100,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The most commonly heard languages are:

Locals speak with a distinctive Rebin accent.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Golden Ring possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Golden Ring is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.

World Law (L)[edit]

Golden Ring has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.

Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]

Golden Ring, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdom of a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversees affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: 2 (ordinary)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: B (abundant)
  • Labor: 4 (tens of thousands)
  • Infrastructure: 6 (limited)
  • Efficiency: -2 (fair)

World Culture[edit]

  • Heterogenity: 1 (monolithic)
  • Acceptance: 7 (aloof)
  • Strangeness: 1 (very typical)
  • Symbols: 6 (somewhat concrete)
