The 271st Fleet is the Numbered Imperial fleet serving the Third Imperium stationed in the Rure Subsector .

Overview

This fleet is unusual because of its size and composition. There are seven HUGE squadrons of mostly light cruisers. Most of the hulls are inexpensive planetoids, packed with as many heavy nuclear-tipped missile batteries and the largest spinal mounts they can carry and power. The swarm of meson armed ships was hoped to be able to overwhelm smaller numbers of larger ships of the line. Refueling operations can present some problems for this fleet and the combat vessels are limited to jump 3 drives. This fleet is primarily seen as a defensive screening force and optimized for firepower and not strategic mobility.

The 935th CruRon was paid for and assigned from sector fleet level assets. This squadron was attached to facilitate long range (jump 6) strikes and penetration raids to an otherwise defensive fleet posture.

The 6562 AssltRon carries the Munnarn fleet marine troop strength to the enemy for planetary assault operations.

In the Classic Era 1115, Pre-Virus, the fleet consists of the:

8184th CruRon

Stationed at Munnarn (Gushemege 1013) A410553-F
