The Yawl class Troop Carrier is an TL–12 Troop Carrier.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
It is a streamlined flattened sphere structure hull for ocean refueling with scoops and a fuel refinery. It has Jump-1 range and 1 Gs acceleration with 1-Agility, it can not keep up main fleet elements, they are send ahead to rendezvous at pre-set rally points and target planets. They are a fleet support element. Originally intended as a destroyer escort, they are now filled with low berths.
- It carries four triple sand casters.
- It carries no subcraft.
It is a class of TL–12 troop carrier is very inexpensive for its size. The tight 200 MCr. budget meant it ran out of money before it ran out of space. So it was reclassified and used as an assault transport. It lands directly on the surface once the troops are brought out of deep freeze. The Old Worlds Navy relies on this class to bring in troops. They carry a battalion of marines.
