Trelyn Vrra is a non-agricultural and nonindustrial world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- It has few prospects for economic development. Life here is drastically bleak.
- This world is a member of the Trelyn Domain (the Duchy of Trelyn) located in the Trelyn Subsector of Vanguard Reaches Sector.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- This world is also the overall capital of an interstellar government with the massive extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
- This world-system has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
- This world is the Capital of the Trelyn Domain, administered by the Grand Duke of Trelyn.
- This world was once known as Dikwa.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Trelyn Vrra is a binary star system.
- The primary is an orange main sequence, known on old charts as Dorff.
- The secondary is a red main sequence named Dorff 2.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x6 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x2 gas giants.
A half billion kilometres further than the planetoid belt is the system's second star, Dorff 2, a red dwarf with a compact system of five rockball worlds of minimal value.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Trelyn Vrra is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Trelyn Vrra has a pressure of less than 0.1 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Trelyn Vrra has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, trace atmosphere world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
This world was once known as Dikwa.
Never able to form a global government, the city states of Dikwa wasted resources fighting over water rights, marginal mines and equipment. When Ardesh Varen's Allarton Corporation ships arrived in 948, most city states took the opportunity to trade sovereignty for survival. Some didn't, but the technological superiority of the new arrivals was such that resistance to the new regime collapsed after a single high-tech military 'demonstration'. By 953 the Dikwa Reclamation Council was the new global government, and this was the first world to join the Trelyn Domain.
Portmanteau Shipping Services has an office of its courier service here.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Trelyn Vrra has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- The world is host to a Trelyn Naval Base.
- The world is host to a major Military Base.
World Population (P)[edit]
Trelyn Vrra has a population of 20,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).
- The population are of Zhodani, Vlazhdumecta, and Imperial heritage.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
- Local languages descended from Vlazhdumecta.
- Riftian Anglic, one of the two primary languages of the Imperium.
- Zdetl, the language of the Zhodani and the Zhodani Consulate.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Trelyn Vrra possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
World Government (G)[edit]
Trelyn Vrra is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
World Law (L)[edit]
Trelyn Vrra has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
