Subsector A of Spica Sector. Dominated by the Solomani Confederation with its subsector Capital at the eponymous Naav, Naav Subsector was formally annexed by the Confederation after the Hive Federation's expansion into the sector.
- It has supported settlements since Second Imperium times and saw development during the Long Night that other areas of the sector didn't.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Ben Gunn is the home to a variant human race whose appendix is required to regulate the diet consisting of their world's native flora and fauna. For other humans, it would be difficult. The Bengunnis as they are known, also have nictitating membranes which may protect their eyes from the major sandstorms which are seasonal on Ben Gunn. The name for them and their world is a reference for their relative backward tech level.
Milano had been home to a race whose priorities focused on topics of philosophic interest and ethical behavior. The self-labeled Shan attempted to cope with the Solomani expansion into Spica with a program of passive disobedience. The last Shan became extinct in the latter part of A.D. 5549 (1031 Imperial).
The fact the present-day Clan elder of Clan McCracken is a woman, her name Dana McCracken, makes their world a local favorite vacation spot for Gurvin members of the Hive Federation. The Gurvin, themselves matriarchal, find the McCrackens a noticeable exception to most human worlds.
The space habitat of Nagg'Astphay is quite a marvel to behold. The planet is theoretically the home of the Nagg'Ast, but there is no proof. As far as anyone knows, the habitat is non-mobile and remains in position because of its location in the planet's trailing Trojan point.
Subsector Summary: 1116[edit]
Naav, subsector A of Spica, contains 25 worlds with an estimated combined population of 7 billion, a per capita income of Cr3,382, and a total economy of BCr24,473. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr1,366 through 19 starports (4 Class A, 7 Class B, 7 Class C, 1 Class D) employing 198,425 people. Driving this interstellar trade are three Agricultural (Ag) worlds, eight Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, four Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, no Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Naav maintain four Naval bases and four Military bases. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 6 and 9). The highest technology level is 11 at Naav (Spica 0103) and Clan Mccracken (Spica 0401).
Naav, subsector A of Spica, contains 36 stars and 256 identified planets; 14 monostellar systems, 11 binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 17 of the 25 systems (68%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, three Desert (De) worlds, no Garden (Ga) worlds, five Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, nine Poor (Po) worlds, three Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.
Naav has an estimated population of 7 billion distributed across one High population (Hi) world, seven Moderate population (Ph) worlds, nine Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, six Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Hyborea (Spica 0803). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.

Solomani Confederation[edit]
The Solomani Confederation has jurisdiction over 23 worlds in the subsector with an estimated combined population of 3 billion, a per capita income of Cr1,224, and a total economy of BCr3,951. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr1,035 through 17 starports (3 Class A, 7 Class B, 6 Class C, 1 Class D) employing 149,860 people. Driving this interstellar trade are three Agricultural (Ag) worlds, seven Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, four Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, no Rich (Ri) worlds, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in the Solomani Confederation maintain three Naval bases and three Military bases within the subsector. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 5 and 9). The highest technology level is 11 at Naav (Spica 0103) and Clan Mccracken (Spica 0401).
The Solomani Confederation has an estimated population of 3 billion within the subsector, distributed across no High population (Hi) worlds, seven Moderate population (Ph) worlds, eight Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, six Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Antairtic (Spica 0202), Nagg'Astphay (Spica 0309), Altus III (Spica 0502), Milano (Spica 0608), Ben Gunn (Spica 0610), and Meridian (Spica 0102). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.
- The Solomani Confederation subsector capital of Naav is Naav (Spica 0103).
Non-Aligned, Human-dominated[edit]
There are two Non-Aligned Human-dominated worlds in Naav with an estimated combined population of 4 billion.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The Naav Subsector contains 25 systems with a known population of 7.549 billion sapients. The highest population known is 4.00 billion at Hyborea. The highest Tech Level known is B at Naav and Clan McCracken. The best Starports known are Type-A at Naav, Nadir, Clan McCracken, and Hyborea.
Security & Defense[edit]
The worlds of the region are patrolled by the Solomani Navy. It defends Confederation territory, protects Confederation interests, suppresses piracy, and ensures interstellar trade and commerce.
- Confederation vessels may demand customs inspections.
- Some systems are defended by local naval forces.
The Solomani Navy operates couriers and packet ships to carry communications and mail within the Confederation. Some of the routes they make use of predate the founding of the Solomani Autonomous Region in the early 8th Century, while others have more modern origins, being established following the Solomani Rim War and Solomani independence.
- Multiple communications routes cross the subsector.
