Subsector Summary: 1116[edit]

Alba, subsector D of Alpha Crucis, contains 28 worlds with an estimated combined population of 6 billion, a per capita income of Cr5,745, and a total economy of BCr37,698. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr769 through 22 starports (3 Class A, 5 Class B, 9 Class C, 5 Class D) employing 113,755 people. Driving this interstellar trade are four Agricultural (Ag) worlds, seven Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, four Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, one Rich (Ri) world, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Alba maintain one Naval base. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 7 and 12). The highest technology level is 14 at Snarf (Alpha Crucis 2701).

Alba, subsector D of Alpha Crucis, contains 42 stars and 318 identified planets; 15 monostellar systems, 12 binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 25 of the 28 systems (89%) have native gas giants. There are three Asteroid (As) belts, no Desert (De) worlds, one Garden (Ga) world, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, four Poor (Po) worlds, six Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.

Alba has an estimated population of 6 billion distributed across one High population (Hi) world, three Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 14 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, five Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Gambda (Alpha Crucis 3210). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.

Solomani Confederation[edit]

The Solomani Confederation has jurisdiction over 18 worlds in the subsector with an estimated combined population of 286 million, a per capita income of Cr1,559, and a total economy of BCr446. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr733 through 15 starports (2 Class A, 3 Class B, 5 Class C, 5 Class D) employing 109,045 people. Driving this interstellar trade are two Agricultural (Ag) worlds, three Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, one Pre-Agricultural (Pa) world, two Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, no Rich (Ri) worlds, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 6 and 12). The highest technology level is 14 at Snarf (Alpha Crucis 2701).

The Solomani Confederation has an estimated population of 286 million within the subsector, distributed across no High population (Hi) worlds, no Moderate population (Ph) worlds, nine Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, five Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Zenux (Alpha Crucis 2704), Rog's Planet (Alpha Crucis 2710), Glassend (Alpha Crucis 3102), and Degas (Alpha Crucis 3201). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The first settlers to Alba were Solomani, moving in during the late Interstellar Wars era. The colonists initially settled Gardon, Villbert, Rog's Planet, and Mansania, with a handful of other worlds colonized during the Rule of Man.

  • The collapse of interstellar society in the Long Night hit all of the colonies hard. The world of White eventually formed a small protectorate which lasted until the 500s when the worlds were integrated back into the Imperium.
  • In the years before the start of the Solomani Rim War, Alba saw another wave of colonists moving in from Old Expanses Sector, fleeing the troubles along the Solomani Confederation border with the Imperium.

Security & Defense[edit]

The worlds of the region are patrolled by the Solomani Navy. It defends Confederation territory, protects Confederation interests, suppresses piracy, and ensures interstellar trade and commerce.

The Solomani Navy operates couriers and packet ships to carry communications and mail within the Confederation. Some of the routes they make use of predate the founding of the Solomani Autonomous Region in the early 8th Century, while others have more modern origins, being established following the Solomani Rim War and Solomani independence.

  • Multiple communications routes cross the subsector.
