Subsector P of Amdukan Sector.
Description[edit]
Formerly known as Damlaer Subsector, until the Damlaer Union agreed to join the Hegemony of Lorean.
Subsector Summary: 1116[edit]
Lorean, subsector P of Amdukan, contains 26 worlds with an estimated combined population of 21 billion, a per capita income of Cr12,395, and a total economy of BCr264,408. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr1,388 through 22 starports (3 Class A, 6 Class B, 12 Class C, 1 Class D) employing 195,500 people. Driving this interstellar trade are seven Agricultural (Ag) worlds, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, one Pre-Agricultural (Pa) world, three Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, three Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Lorean maintain eight Military bases and six Naval bases. The average technology level is 8 (with most between 5 and 10). The highest technology level is 15 at Llueng (Amdukan 2736).
Lorean, subsector P of Amdukan, contains 37 stars and 307 identified planets; 16 monostellar systems, nine binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 24 of the 26 systems (92%) have native gas giants. There are one Asteroid (As) belt, two Desert (De) worlds, no Garden (Ga) worlds, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, six Poor (Po) worlds, two Vacuum (Va) worlds, and four Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.
Lorean has an estimated population of 21 billion distributed across one High population (Hi) world, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 14 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, seven Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Damlaer (Amdukan 3138). The population consists primarily of 3 sophont groups.

Julian Protectorate[edit]
The Julian Protectorate has jurisdiction over all of the worlds with an estimated combined population of 21 billion, a per capita income of Cr12,395, and a total economy of BCr264,408. The governments in the Julian Protectorate maintain eight Military bases and six Naval bases within the subsector. The average technology level is 8 (with most between 5 and 10). The highest technology level is 15 at Llueng (Amdukan 2736).
The Julian Protectorate has an estimated population of 21 billion within the subsector, distributed across one High population (Hi) world, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 14 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, seven Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Damlaer (Amdukan 3138). The population consists primarily of 3 sophont groups. The most common Human ethnicities are Arzula and Damlaerite.
- The Julian Protectorate subsector capital of Lorean is Damlaer (Amdukan 3138).
Astrographic Features & Trade Routes: 1105[edit]
The following astrographic features, trade routes, mains, clusters, and traces can be found within this area:
- Abuish Cluster: Five systems
- Starwood Run
- Uerzksasnoeth Cluster: Four systems
World Listing: 1116[edit]
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
In 942, after the Julian Protectorate and the Hegemony of Lorean formally signed the Treaty of Var-Inaka (restricting naval basing) and the Julian Concord, Damlaer Subsector was formally renamed Lorean Subsector, and became the new capital of the Hegemony.
The Hegemony Communications Service operates between worlds in this subsector.
Polity Listing: 1116[edit]
- Julian Protectorate
- Hegemony of Lorean
- The concept of Arzulan Hegemony predates the official Hegemony of Lorean by around a century, leading to some occasional confusion in historical records.
- There are an endless number of pro-Hegemony secret societies within the government, which tend to fight each other (in a restrained fashion) when they aren't attacking anti-Hegemonio subversives (with wild abandon, cold efficiency, or unleashed ferocity, depending on the nature of the group).
- Damlaer Union (defunct, chose to join Hegemony of Lorean)
- Hegemony of Lorean
Native Sophonts[edit]
No information yet available.
Demographics[edit]
Significant populations of the following sophont races exist within this subsector:
- Chirper
- Humaniti
- Arzula ethnicity
- Damlaerite ethnicity
- Vargr
Linguistic Topography: 1105[edit]
The following languages are among the most commonly used within this astrographic region:
- Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium and common outside its borders.
- The Julian variant is most commonly heard in this region.
- Arzulan: A series of largely related languages granted state recognition by the Lorean Hegemony.
- Various other, local languages may be heard on Lorean worlds, but have no government support.
- Hhraki: Also known as Hhkarn; the primary language of the Hhkar. Hhkar travel frequently and may be found wandering much of Julian and adjacent space.
- Irilitok: The primary language family of the region's Vargr.
- Tenirruet: A widespread Irilitok trade language within the Hegemony of Lorean.
- Suedzuk: The primary language family of a Vargr cultural region in relative proximity.
- Evrgoer: The most common Suedzuk trade tongue in the region.
- Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium, and widespread beyond its borders.
- Wawa-pakekeke-wawa: The common, precise and bureaucratic language of the Bwaps. Spoken on Bwap-dominated planets and by government functionaries on any world lucky enough to retain a dedicated Bwap workforce.
Major Historical Events Timeline: 1116[edit]
These are some of the more important historical events that have affected this subsector and its surrounding region:
- -2235 to -2219: A family of Solomani traders, the Menderes, establish lucrative trade routes along the Mendan Main.
- -321: Karik Menderes of Menderes Corporation raises all Menderes Vargr to the status of employees.
- This starts a movement that makes slavery illegal on Asimikigir by -302.
- -275: Tran Menderes breaks precedent by accepting a Vargr offer to carry Menderes goods off planet. Until now, Kudukara Lines, the principle transport line of the Second Empire of Gashikan, has carried all goods for the region.
- (175 to 191): Julian War; the region unites to fight off the Third Imperium as it attempts to incorporate Amdukan, Mendan and Meshan sectors by force.
- 359-375: War of Man, as Humans rebel against repressive Vargr rule in coreward Empty Quarter Sector.
- 483: The interstellar polity of Abuish is founded.
- 534: The Abuish polity is forcefully annexed to the Damlaer Union.
- 814: The Third Imperium and the Arzula authorities forge a trading agreement, leading to the creation of the Deep Space Stations of the Saeghvung-Turley-Exile Run, crossing the Lesser Rift in Empty Quarter Sector.
- 822-835: Much of Arzul Sector to trailing is conquered by the Arzula.
- 864: The formal Hegemony of Lorean is founded, starting out as a 'trade and aid' group of interstellar traders centred on a cluster of high-population systems dominating Mycocona Subsector.
- The great success of this trade coalition leads to a sharp rise of economic and then military power.
- 933-936: The defection of the Damlaer Union from the Julian Protectorate to the Hegemony leads to the Lorean Strikes. Failed military action leads to a major political crisis within the Protectorate.
- 942: The Protectorate and the Hegemony formally sign the Treaty of Var-Inaka (restricting naval basing) and the Julian Concord, incorporating the Hegemony into the Julian Protectorate.
- Damlaer Subsector is formally renamed Lorean Subsector.
