History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

World Starport (St)[edit]

Worpole has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Worpole has a population of 5,000 sophonts (thousands).

  • This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.

World Demographics[edit]

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The following languages are the most commonly used here:

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Worpole possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
    • Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
    • Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
    • Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
    • FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.

World Government (G)[edit]

Worpole is governed by a Corporate Polity, having a single corporation with a typical corporate structure as a government. Essentially, this is a "company town" (or world). The typical corporate-run world usually has a single purpose. Examples include mining, agriculture, or other kinds of resource extraction. But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families, including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation.

World Military[edit]

World Timeline: 1116[edit]

These are some of the more important historical events that have affected this world:

  • 915: The Hegemon starts sending emissaries, secretly and publicly, to contact the major leaders of the Damlaer Union.
  • 933-936: The Damlaer Union defects from the Julian Protectorate to the Hegemony of Lorean, leading to the Lorean Strikes. Failed military action leads to a major political crisis within the Protectorate.
  • 942: The Protectorate and the Hegemony formally sign the Treaty of Var-Inaka (restricting naval basing) and the Julian Concord, incorporating the Hegemony into the Julian Protectorate.
