Lasagima is a nonindustrial water world, which has 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water.
- The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 10% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- It is a member of the Khuur League in the Sydymic Subsector of Ley Sector.
- It is a chilly tundra world, with a climate of low temperatures.
Description / Astrography & Planetology[edit]
This world is located on the Sydymic Main.
Stellar Data[edit]
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x8 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Lasagima orbits towards the outer edge of its star's habitable zone.
- It receives relatively low levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Lasagima is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Lasagima has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
- It experiences relatively low temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Lasagima has 95-100% of its surface covered by liquid water with only a few islands and archipelagos. Wilderness refueling is possible. Such worlds are Water Worlds or Ocean Worlds.
- The world's oceans are littered with icebergs and pack ice.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant aquatic native life occupying every available marine ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World Starport[edit]
Lasagima has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Lasagima has a population of 20,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- The population consists mostly of Sydites.
World Languages[edit]
World Technology Level[edit]
Lasagima possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government[edit]
Lasagima has no central government or substantial government apparatus; an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.

World Culture[edit]
Sydites are stereotyped among their neighbours as strong but inept. The Sydites are quite aware of this, and resent the image and the dismissal of their significant place in the history of Ley Sector. As a race they are tired of being thought a second-rate people.
