Cluseret is a rich world.

  • As a rich world, this planet has high-grade living conditions and is highly sought after by immigrating sophonts.
  • This world has a prosperous and thriving world economy.
  • Some of the sources of this world's wealth are well known, but others remain a mystery. Many speculate on these mysterious sources of wealth. Some even investigate them... to no avail yet.
  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Kerr Subsector of Massilia Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
  • This is a "Puzzle" world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.
  • It is a member of the Yagas Arm region of the Greater Massilia Main.
  • During the Long Night it lay within the Rebin Empire's sphere of influence.
  • At the founding of the Imperium this world was known as Shig.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Cluseret is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Cluseret has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Cluseret has 15-25% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. There may be a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records. However, some topographical features are noted:

  • Centersea (the planet's main ocean)
  • The Saturnalia Plateau (to the north of Centersea)

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Cluseret is a Puzzle World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.

  • Visitors are advised to act with caution.

It is a member of the Yagas Arm region of the Greater Massilia Main, a major Main and important trade route lying across parts of Massilia Sector and Zarushagar Sector.

The Rebin Empire[edit]

During the Long Night this world fell within the Rebin Empire's sphere of influence. It benefitted from trade agreements and defense policies imposed by the Empire, but it struggled with the Empire's unilateral decision-making, interference in its internal affairs, occasional military interventions, and most significantly its views on gender roles. The Empire gradually disintegrated in the centuries before the founding of the Third Imperium, with interstellar trade slowly dying off and some of the worlds it had overseen becoming depopulated.

  • It was considered a Provincial World by the Empire and was afforded fewer rights and protections.
  • The worlds that the Empire controlled or interacted with have a distinct Rebin cultural flavor to the present day.
  • Despite its many shortcomings, the Rebin Empire was overall considered a force for good and most worlds are proud of their association with it.

During the Long Night and the Rebin era the world's society was built around psionics. One of the world's inland lakes has the curious property of interacting with the psionic powers of those who go beneath its surface. The first time a person with psionic potential immerses himself in it, their powers are unlocked. Additional immersions result in a temporary but substantial increase in the person's psionic level.

  • Pilgrimages to the lake were required of every citizen upon reaching adulthood. Thereafter, only those chosen by the government were allowed to return. The highest psionic talents were conscripted into government service "for the good of the world".

Shig, as it was then called, was an early member world of the Third Imperium. Its ruler in the first decades of Imperial dominion was Queen Kaliena Wain, who was guiding the world to greater integration into the interstellar community while trying to preserve its unique culture.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Cluseret has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Cluseret has a population of 60,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The most commonly heard languages are:

Locals speak with a distinctive Rebin accent.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Cluseret possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

Because Cluseret is rich in avian life, evolution having favoured fliers in the world's low gravity and high atmospheric pressures, use of flying craft and grav vehicles can be especially dangerous at low altitudes, making the use of ground traffic much more common than would be expected of other worlds at this Tech Level.

World Government (G)[edit]

Cluseret is governed by a Non-charismatic Dictatorship. This is a continuation of the charismatic dictatorship, where the original leadership has died or retired and been replaced by allies or protégés. The justifications for the original change in government remain as well as the assertion of rights to rule.

World Law (L)[edit]

Cluseret has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. On worlds with this degree of law, it is difficult to distinguish the police from the military. On others, there is no difference.

Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]

Cluseret, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdom of a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversees affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: 3 (ordinary)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: D (very abundant)
  • Labor: 6 (millions)
  • Infrastructure: C (very extensive)
  • Efficiency: +5 (very advanced)

  • Symbols: E (extremely abstract)
