Bevey is a poor, non-agricultural, industrial, high-population desert hellworld, with a billion or more sophonts struggling to survive in a inhospitable environment.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants. Survivors often develop intense survival skills and tend to be grim realists.
- This world has no free-standing water.
- As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- Despite this world's industrial prowess, it remains poor. Some blame this on the high prices of food, which must be imported. Others blame the nature of a hellworld. Whatever this reason, something needs to change in order for this world to prosper.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Rhylanor Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector in the Domain of Deneb.
- This is a hot world, with a climate of high temperatures.
- This is a "Puzzle" world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.
- This world has an Imperial Scout base, capable of handling IISS starships and personnel.
- The world's name is sometimes spelled Bevy.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Bevey has a solitary primary star.
- It is a white main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x4 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
- x2 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Despite being a desert planet, Bevey is a high population world.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Bevey is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Bevey has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. This atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds, which requires the use of a Filter Respirator Combination Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences high temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Bevey has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Bevey is a Puzzle World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.
The Interim Council rules the people with an iron fist, yet its draconian laws and harsh enforcement methods are welcomed by the populace. The council has promised to improve conditions for the populace, and thus far has succeeded to a limited degree. One such project was the demand to be allowed to colonize Kegena, despite the world's long ownership by Rhylanor and the already long-standing presence of a series of insular low-technology colonial settlements. Tentative Imperial agreement and potentially promising results from negotiations with the Rhylanor government has led to an increase in popular support for the council but has led to furor among the colonial population of Kegena. If the colony project begins to falter, the situation might again become explosive as the people lose faith in their chosen dictators.
- Visitors are advised to act with caution.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Bevey has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
- The world is host to a Scout Base.
World Population (P)[edit]
Bevey has a population of 2,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
Urbanization[edit]
In addition to Bevey Startown, other major settlements on Bevey include Usharn, Marii, Khagii, and Ledashi.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The following languages are most commonly heard:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Bevey possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Bevey is governed by a Charismatic Oligarchy, like a charismatic dictatorship in that a larger group has asserted their right to rule. The group will likely have better rules of succession than a single dictator and may last longer, or may transition to a non-charismatic dictatorship.
World Law (L)[edit]
Bevey has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked. There is no legal concept of privacy (save for those who can claim necessity for official government business). The police are free to inspect anyone and anything at any time.
Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]
Bevey, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdom of a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversees affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight, the Imperial representative to the world.
