Subsector B of Dark Nebula Sector.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Although Aotrei was never entirely cut off from the interstellar community even during the Long Night, a number of its worlds are isolated and their cultures have become strange and insular.

Subsector Summary: 1105[edit]

Aotrei, subsector B of Dark Nebula, contains 33 worlds with an estimated combined population of 11 billion, a per capita income of Cr2,687, and a total economy of BCr32,203. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr82 through 27 starports (6 Class A, 8 Class B, 10 Class C, 3 Class D) employing 13,395 people. Driving this interstellar trade are two Agricultural (Ag) worlds, four Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, three Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, six Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, two Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Aotrei maintain four Military bases and three Naval bases. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 4 and 10). The highest technology level is 14 at Uaoya (Dark Nebula 1305).

Aotrei, subsector B of Dark Nebula, contains 42 stars and 372 identified planets; 25 monostellar systems, seven binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 26 of the 33 systems (78%) have native gas giants. There are two Asteroid (As) belts, no Desert (De) worlds, two Garden (Ga) worlds, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, two Poor (Po) worlds, four Vacuum (Va) worlds, and no Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Aotrei has an estimated population of 11 billion distributed across two High population (Hi) worlds, five Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 12 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, eight Low population (Lo) worlds, and two Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Pannusgario (Dark Nebula 1003) and Yoaieal (Dark Nebula 1104). The population consists primarily of 3 sophont groups.

3 identified sophont populations in Aotrei

Non-Aligned, Aslan-dominated[edit]

There are 28 Non-Aligned Aslan-dominated worlds in Aotrei with an estimated combined population of 11 billion.

Non-Aligned, Human-dominated[edit]

There are three Non-Aligned Human-dominated worlds in Aotrei with an estimated combined population of 507 million.

Non-Aligned, unclaimed[edit]

There are two Non-Aligned unclaimed worlds in Aotrei with an estimated combined population of less than 1 million.

Linguistic Topography: 1105[edit]

In the politically neutral areas of Dark Nebula, nearly every individual world has at least one local language spoken nowhere else.

Some of the common languages found across the region are as follows:

  • Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium and an official language of the Solomani Confederation.
    • Various secondary languages of Terran origin can be heard on Solomani worlds.
  • Aslanic: A patois of the Aslan's dominant language of Trokh, utilising Trokh grammar and morphology but with phonology more suited to Human vocalisation. Commonly used by Human societies that have long had contact and exchange with Aslan, noticeably those aided and uplifted by Aslan during the Long Night.
  • Osmani: A distant descendent of ancient Terran Turkish, with a large number of loanwords from Vilani and Trokh.
  • Trokh: The common language of Aslan who conform to the modern Aslan monoculture established after the Aslan Cultural Purge.
