Basic Ship Characteristics[edit]
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (...of ten subcraft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (...thousands of tons) where necessary. History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The Ship’s Boat is probably the second most common smallcraft after the lifeboat or launch. It has become one of the eight most popular and commonly encountered smallcraft designs found within Charted Space.
The Leo-class was originally built in Core Sector by the shipyards of Baldang Arms and its use has since spread across Charted Space. It's compact, utilitarian design and roomy cargo bay is much appreciated by its crews.
Class Naming Practice/s & Peculiarities[edit]
The Leo-class are extremely utilitarian ship's boats named after famous explorers and scouts of the Third Imperium.
The class has a number of quirks including hatches and landing gear with a tendency to stick. Many crew have retrofitted oversize actuators and motors in an attempt to combat these figurative gremlins.
