• It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
• Its economy and population are slowly growing and living conditions are expected to improve in the near future barring outside forces.
• It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Kostov Subsector of Neworld Sector.

Burroughs is a member of the Vodamir Trace, a small cluster and minor trade route lying within the spinward-coreward quadrant of Neworld Sector.

The population almost entirely consists of Selenites, a Variant Human Race engineered to live in low gravity environments. Most Selenites are deeply uncomfortable outside an environment that can be neatly controlled. Being outdoors on a 'wild' planet is unsettling to them, and sudden rain or even a strong gust of wind might provoke panicked demands for reassurance.

Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Solomani State and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the the State and its interests.

World Starport (St)

Burroughs has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
