Twele is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and are both non-agricultural and nonindustrial in nature.

  • These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • They require extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • The worldlets are, for the most part, unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
  • These worldlets have very few prospect for economic expansion.
  • It is a member of the Lancian Cultural Region, a sub-polity of the Third Imperium, located in the Isi Ahto Subsector of Gushemege Sector.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Twele is a binary star system.

  • The primary is an orange main sequence.
  • The secondary is a red main sequence.
Twele has two stars in the star system.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Twele is an Asteroid Belt consisting of a few very large objects with diameters of hundreds of kilometers, thousands of bodies of a few kilometers in diameter, and millions of smaller objects.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

None of the bodies within the Twele belt retain an atmosphere.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

The Twele belt contains a few icy bodies. A few belt objects have frozen volatiles on their surfaces.

  • Wilderness refueling is possible within the belt, provided a suitable icy object can be found.
  • Water for the inhabitants is generally imported and is extensively recycled.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held chart of the belt exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

With a mixed Human and Graytch population, the Twele belt is a vibrant place. Cities tend to be very dispersed with commercial, industrial, shopping, and residential sections typically scattered across several asteroids or, often in the Graytch case, free-flying platforms.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Twele has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Twele has a population of 1,000,000 sophonts (millions).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
  • About 50% of the population is made up of Graytch.

World Languages[edit]

The following languages are most commonly heard:

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Twele possesses a Technology Level of TL–14 or TL-E in Hexadecimal Notation.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early meson communicators.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, early collectors, and advanced fusion plants.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:

World Government (G)[edit]

Twele has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.

World Law (L)[edit]

Twele has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked, and destinations must often be declared when traveling substantial distances across the world.

  • In Graytch courts, a judicial board is established for each trial session, the board members drawn from the public at large. The board act as judge and jury, and also handle sentencing. The Agency of Justice appoints an advisor to ensure that all goes smoothly.
  • Graytch legal codes treat almost all crime as an example of mental illness, and hand out banishment as one of their most substantial punishments.

Imperial Landed Nobility (N)[edit]

Twele, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: 1 (ordinary)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: 9 (moderate)
  • Labor: 5 (hundreds of thousands)
  • Infrastructure: 5 (limited)
  • Efficiency: +3 (improved)

Local corporations include the following:

  • Brydon Minerals: Human
  • Des-li-ha: Graytch, notoriously ruthless
  • Fur-vou-del: Graytch, works with metals
  • Harnon Mining: Human

World Culture[edit]

  • Heterogenity: 8 (discordant)
  • Acceptance: 7 (aloof)
  • Strangeness: 7 (confusing)
  • Symbols: G (extremely abstract)
