Subsector G of Amdukan Sector. Part of Julian Protectorate space, including the majority of the Hhkar Sphere.
Description
Once a battleground as migrating Hhkar displaced Vargr and Humans, Hikaru Subsector is now a functional if dangerous part of the wider Julian Protectorate.
The subsector has a population of 12.5 billion, the considerable majority (10 billion) on the Hhkar homeworld of Skkyhrk.
Subsector Summary: 1116
Hikaru, subsector G of Amdukan, contains 27 worlds with an estimated combined population of 12 billion, a per capita income of Cr6,800, and a total economy of BCr84,699. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr1,575 through 25 starports (1 Class A, 8 Class B, 12 Class C, 4 Class D) employing 213,910 people. Driving this interstellar trade are four Agricultural (Ag) worlds, four Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, four Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, one Rich (Ri) world, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Hikaru maintain 11 Military bases and four Naval bases. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 5 and 9). The highest technology level is 13 at Skkyhrk (Amdukan 2213).
Hikaru, subsector G of Amdukan, contains 38 stars and 330 identified planets; 17 monostellar systems, nine binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 24 of the 27 systems (88%) have native gas giants. There are one Asteroid (As) belt, one Desert (De) world, one Garden (Ga) world, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, six Poor (Po) worlds, two Vacuum (Va) worlds, and seven Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.
Hikaru has an estimated population of 12 billion distributed across one High population (Hi) world, five Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 18 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, two Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Skkyhrk (Amdukan 2213). The population consists primarily of 4 sophont groups including one native sophont.

Julian Protectorate
The Julian Protectorate has jurisdiction over all of the worlds with an estimated combined population of 12 billion, a per capita income of Cr6,800, and a total economy of BCr84,699. The governments maintain 11 Military bases and four Naval bases within the subsector. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 5 and 9). The highest technology level is 13 at Skkyhrk (Amdukan 2213).
The Julian Protectorate has an estimated population of 12 billion within the subsector, distributed across one High population (Hi) world, five Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 18 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, two Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Skkyhrk (Amdukan 2213). The population consists primarily of 4 sophont groups including one native sophont.
- The Julian Protectorate subsector capital of Hikaru is Skkyhrk (Amdukan 2213). This is also the capital of the Hhkar Sphere.

Major Historical Events Timeline: 1116
These are some of the more important historical events that have affected this subsector:
- -50,000: For reasons unknown, the Hhkar leave their homeworld using ramscoop-equipped vessels and colonize Skkyhrk (which will be known to Vargr as Urinir) and other nearby planets.
- -10,000: Again for unknown reasons, Hhkar migrate away from Skkyhrk.
- -222: The Hhkar return to the region in a great migration, attacking the Vargr society present on Urinir.
- -219: Vargr emissaries are able to negotiate a complete surrender. The terms include the destruction of "non-productive" members of the Urinir society (the elderly, the disabled, and the unemployed) and a total ban on new births.
- Over the next 500 years, the Hhkar expand their sphere of occupied worlds.
- 377: Commodore David Lindquist of the Julian Protecorate Star Legion almost defeats a Hhkar force at Kargar. The Hhkar are so impressed by Lindquist's tenacity and cleverness that he is given an honorable execution, and the Hhkar withdraw from the system in spite of their victory.
- Early 600s: After centuries of increasingly common peaceful (if wary) interaction, the Hhkar Sphere joins the Julian Protectorate.
