Subsector H of Amdukan Sector.

Description[edit]

No information yet available.

Subsector Summary: 1116[edit]

Urru, subsector H of Amdukan, contains 26 worlds with an estimated combined population of 880 million, a per capita income of Cr1,076, and a total economy of BCr947. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr414 through 23 starports (2 Class A, 6 Class B, 12 Class C, 3 Class D) employing 54,780 people. Driving this interstellar trade are five Agricultural (Ag) worlds, three Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, one Pre-Agricultural (Pa) world, one Pre-Industrial (Pi) world, four Rich (Ri) worlds, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Urru maintain nine Military bases, and five Naval bases. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 4 and 10). The highest technology level is 13 at Lisii (Amdukan 2912).

Urru, subsector H of Amdukan, contains 36 stars and 306 identified planets; 17 monostellar systems, eight binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 19 of the 26 systems (73%) have native gas giants. There are one Asteroid (As) belt, two Desert (De) worlds, one Garden (Ga) world, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, six Poor (Po) worlds, three Vacuum (Va) worlds, and four Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Urru has an estimated population of 880 million distributed across no High population (Hi) worlds, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 17 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, five Low population (Lo) worlds, and one Barren (Ba) world. The highest population worlds are Zzaskkurhk (Amdukan 2517) and Aegzuesu (Amdukan 2717). The population consists primarily of 3 sophont groups.

Julian Protectorate[edit]

The Julian Protectorate has jurisdiction over all of the worlds with an estimated combined population of 880 million, a per capita income of Cr1,076, and a total economy of BCr947. The governments in the Julian Protectorate maintain nine Military bases and five Naval bases within the subsector. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 4 and 10). The highest technology level is 13 at Lisii (Amdukan 2912).

The Julian Protectorate has an estimated population of 880 million in this subsector, distributed across no High population (Hi) worlds, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 17 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, five Low population (Lo) worlds, and one Barren (Ba) world. The highest population worlds are Zzaskkurhk (Amdukan 2517) and Aegzuesu (Amdukan 2717). The population consists primarily of 3 sophont groups.

Demographics[edit]

Significant populations of the following sophont races exist within this subsector:

Linguistic Topography: 1105[edit]

The following languages are among the most commonly used within this astrographic region:

  • Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium and common outside its borders.
    • The Julian variant is most commonly heard in this region.
  • Arzulan: A series of largely related languages granted state recognition by the Lorean Hegemony.
    • Various other, local languages may be heard on Lorean worlds, but have no government support.
  • Hhraki: Also known as Hhkarn; the primary language of the Hhkar. Hhkar travel frequently and may be found wandering much of Julian and adjacent space.
  • Irilitok: The primary language family of the region's Vargr.
  • Suedzuk: The primary language family of a Vargr cultural region in relative proximity.
    • Evrgoer: The most common Suedzuk trade tongue in the region.
  • Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium, and widespread beyond its borders.
  • Wawa-pakekeke-wawa: The common, precise and bureaucratic language of the Bwaps. Spoken on Bwap-dominated planets and by government functionaries on any world lucky enough to retain a dedicated Bwap workforce.

Major Historical Events Timeline: 1116[edit]

These are some of the more important historical events that have affected this subsector:

  • -50,000: For reasons unknown, the Hhkar leave their homeworld using ramscoop-equipped vessels and colonize Skkyhrk (which will be known to Vargr as Urinir) and other nearby planets.
  • -10,000: Again for unknown reasons, Hhkar migrate away from Skkyhrk.
  • -222: The Hhkar return to the region in a great migration, attacking the Vargr society present on Urinir.
  • -219: Vargr emissaries are able to negotiate a complete surrender. The terms include the destruction of "non-productive" members of the Urinir society (the elderly, the disabled, and the unemployed) and a total ban on new births.
    • Over the next 500 years, the Hhkar expand their sphere of occupied worlds.
  • 377: Commodore David Lindquist of the Julian Protecorate Star Legion almost defeats a Hhkar force at Kargar. The Hhkar are so impressed by Lindquist's tenacity and cleverness that he is given an honorable execution, and the Hhkar withdraw from the system in spite of their victory.
  • Early 600s: After centuries of increasingly common peaceful (if wary) interaction, the Hhkar Sphere joins the Julian Protectorate.
  • 864: The Hegemony of Lorean is founded, starting out as a 'trade and aid' group of interstellar traders centred on a cluster of high-population systems dominating Mycocona Subsector, in Arzul Sector.
    • The great success of this trade coalition leads to a sharp rise of economic and then military power.
  • 933-936: The defection of the Damlaer Union from the Julian Protectorate to the Hegemony leads to the Lorean Strikes. Failed military action leads to a major political crisis within the Protectorate.
  • 942: The Protectorate and the Hegemony formally sign the Treaty of Var-Inaka (restricting naval basing) and the Julian Concord, incorporating the Hegemony into the Julian Protectorate.
