Subsector E of Crucis Margin Sector.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Founded during the last days of the Long Night as a raider kingdom, the eponymous Raidermarch became a powerful and militarized state in its part of Crucis Margin Sector. Becoming a lot more respectable in later centuries, it eventually reverted to being predatory, and in time collapsed. The Grand Duchy of Kalradin, having been long established on Kalradin, then expanded to claim many of the Raidermarch worlds.

Raidermarch, subsector E of Crucis Margin, contains 27 worlds with an estimated combined population of 2 billion, a per capita income of Cr5,490, and a total economy of BCr14,600. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr113 through 22 starports (7 Class A, 3 Class B, 6 Class C, 6 Class D) employing 42,325 people. Driving this interstellar trade are four Agricultural (Ag) worlds, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, five Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, two Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, six Rich (Ri) worlds, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Raidermarch maintain three Naval bases, two Scout bases, and one Way station. The average technology level is 8 (with most between 5 and 10). The highest technology level is 12 at Fauve (Crucis Margin 0214), Kronshlot (Crucis Margin 0414), Orsu (Crucis Margin 0619), and Marada (Crucis Margin 0813).
Raidermarch, subsector E of Crucis Margin, contains 36 stars and 244 identified planets; 19 monostellar systems, seven binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 13 of the 27 systems (48%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, two Desert (De) worlds, three Garden (Ga) worlds, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, five Poor (Po) worlds, no Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.
Raidermarch has an estimated population of 2 billion distributed across no High population (Hi) worlds, six Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 13 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, four Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Kochi (Crucis Margin 0614), Kalradin (Crucis Margin 0416), Mayagi (Crucis Margin 0617), Orsu (Crucis Margin 0619), Gifu (Crucis Margin 0616), and Jaruco (Crucis Margin 0711). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.

These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr43 through 11 starports (5 Class A, 1 Class B, 1 Class C, 4 Class D) employing 26,450 people. Driving this interstellar trade are three Agricultural (Ag) worlds, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, no Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, four Rich (Ri) worlds, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in the Grand Duchy of Kalradin maintain two Naval bases, two Scout bases, and one Way station. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 6 and 11). History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Some worlds in this subsector are thought to have been part of the historical Mandanin Co-Dominion. Others were part of the Raidermarch, which gave its name to the cluster of eight systems it controlled.
For several centuries, the Raidermarch was almost apologetic about its piratical origins, and generous in trade and foreign assistance. It seemed determined to be seen as a power for stability and order in the region. However, from around 750, something changed. Rumours began to circulate that the naval vessels of the Raidermarch were using commerce-protection as a cover for piracy.
Despite a vigorous clash with forces backed by the Glimmerdrift Trade Consortium, the Raidermarch came to dominate trade in local systems, charging high tolls for safe passage. Eventually, its reversion to predatory tactics prompted its collapse. Kalradin, with its Imperial-expat culture, filled the void.
