Mandanin Co-Dominion

A defunct interstellar polity believed to have existed in Crucis Margin Sector, noted on some fragmentary older charts.

Mandanin Co-Dominion (Polity) History & Background

Information concerning the precise internal structure of the Co-Dominion is scanty and nebulous at best. Previous organizations in this area appear to have been clan and commercial structures of no great extent or permanence. Several non-Human intelligences were also known to inhabit this region, at least one in the early stages of starflight.

Imperium historical information on the region appears to have been accidentally destroyed during the Civil War. Only fragmentary texts of previous records remain. Prior to Human involvement in the region, theoretical research on jumpspace was apparently being conducted (possibly by Droyne out of Tubroyllufotyusk) but there were seemingly no plans to construct actual prototypes.

Three centuries ago a joint Human-alien culture started to spread out simultaneously from several nuclei systems. Growth was steady, emphasizing cooperative ventures between Human and Danin authority structures. Internal trade was restricted to authorized companies and external trade was limited to several supervised starports. Information of any sort about the internal affairs of this "Mandanin Co-Dominion" was suppressed. Expansion attempts into neighbouring cultural regions were reported; those into the Marlan Primate were decisively defeated; incursions into the Krax Confederation indicated that new expansion would be aimed in their direction.

Circa 1000, a militant revolution completely restructured Mandanin society and initiated an aggressive policy that caused the total collapse of the nascent pocket empire.
