Iron is a barren world with no overt population, government, or law level.
- This world could be populated if anyone had an inclination to do so...
- It is a member of the Sword Worlds Confederation in the Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector.
- It is a balmy tropical world, with a climate of high temperatures.
- This is a "Reserve World" with restricted access, either to protect the indigenous lifeforms, to protect available resources, preserve pristine and idyllic real estate, or other reasons.
- Iron is a member of the Spinward Main.
- It is one of the Metal Worlds.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Iron has a solitary primary star catalogued as CN4335686.
- It is a white main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x3 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x4 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Iron orbits its primary, CN4335686, at a distance of 2.40 AU. It has one large moon.
It orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.
- It lies within the zone's warmer inner H+ region
- It receives higher levels of stellar energy.
The planet is mostly covered by warm oceans and is virtually uninhabited. Around the equator, temperatures are high enough to cause the oceans to steam, resulting in thick fogs and mists that hang above the waters. In areas that are geologically active, the fog mixes with volcanic gases to produce dense, toxic smogs.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Iron is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
- Tidal stresses generated by the world's large moon cause frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Iron has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. This atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds, which requires the use of a Filter Respirator Combination Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences high temperatures.
The world has a very thin oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere with a taint comprised of volcanic gases, chiefly carbon dioxide (CO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and hydrogen sulfide (H2S).
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Iron has 85-95% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few small continents, and a number of islands and archipelagos. Dry land is limited. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Satellites[edit]
Iron retains a single large moon.
- It orbits once every few weeks.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Iron is a Reserve World, set aside for future exploitation and development.
During the Fifth Frontier War Iron was invaded and occupied by Imperial Forces. At the conclusion of hostilities it was annexed by the Imperium, along with the rest of the Metal Worlds.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Iron has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Iron is a Barren World with no sophont population. It may still possess lifeforms.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Iron possesses a Tech Level of TL–0.
- The world has no technological base.
World Government (G)[edit]
Iron has no government or ruling authority of any kind.
World Law (L)[edit]
Iron has no law level. No laws of any kind are enforced.
