Subsector G of Antares Sector. Gimgir Subsector borders a significant rift across which lies the Julian Protectorate and the Vargr Extents.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

It's an area with a very high density of stars and a very old population of sophonts.

  • The Azhanti have become very influential within the sector after their adoption of FTL starcraft, and their philosophies, mercenary units, traders, and the like are ubiquitous throughout the region.
  • The proximity to the Julians and the Extents Vargr have made the maintenance of a significant naval fleet a necessity. Corsair Vessels are known to swoop in from non-aligned space for raids and piracy. Strong patrols frequent most well-trafficked star lanes.
  • The Gimgir Subsector is defended by 156th Fleet.

Subsector Summary: 1105[edit]

Gimgir, subsector G of Antares, contains 41 worlds with an estimated combined population of 65 billion, a per capita income of Cr3,801, and a total economy of BCr247,180. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr824 through 33 starports (6 Class A, 13 Class B, 10 Class C, 4 Class D) employing 168,620 people. Driving this interstellar trade are seven Agricultural (Ag) worlds, one Non-Agricultural (Na) world, four Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, four Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, two Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Gimgir maintain five Naval bases and three Scout bases. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 6 and 11). The highest technology level is 17 at Sabmiqys (Antares 2117).

Gimgir, subsector G of Antares, contains 56 stars and 453 identified planets; 27 monostellar systems, 13 binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 34 of the 41 systems (82%) have native gas giants. There are one Asteroid (As) belt, two Desert (De) worlds, two Garden (Ga) worlds, one Ice-capped (Ic) world, three Poor (Po) worlds, two Vacuum (Va) worlds, and six Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Gimgir has an estimated population of 65 billion distributed across five High population (Hi) worlds, three Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 18 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, ten Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Ocho (Antares 1920) and Oghoutsekae (Antares 2316). The population consists primarily of 3 sophont groups including two native sophonts.

Third Imperium, Domain of Antares[edit]

The Third Imperium, Domain of Antares has jurisdiction over all of the worlds with an estimated combined population of 65 billion, a per capita income of Cr3,801, and a total economy of BCr247,180. The governments in the Third Imperium, Domain of Antares maintain five Naval bases and three Scout bases within the subsector. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 6 and 11). The highest technology level is 17 at Sabmiqys (Antares 2117). Note that this is an interdicted world, not truly an Imperial possession.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The area is an old, civilized and settled area with many societies and civilizations that have come and gone. It has also been the locations of a number of space wars including conflicts between the Julians and the Third Imperium as well as numerous human-on-human, vargr-on-vargr, and human-vargr squabbles over the millennia. The Vilani once extensively colonized the region leaving behind many Vilani cultural pockets. Bwap traders have established a number of smaller colonies in the region. The area has a rich history, much of it which has never been properly chronicled.
