The Fanzhhienz class Far Trader is a Zhodani Far Trader

Description[edit]

The Zhodani far trader has the needle style lines of most Zhodani ship designs, though the needs of freight carriage dictate a broader form . The bridge is located forward; just aft of this is a lounge used by crew and passengers. The remainder of the upper deck is taken up by staterooms and engineering, with the lower deck holding the cargo area and the air/raft in a fitted hull compartment.

The upper deck of the Fanzhhienz is taken up by the working parts of the ship; the Zhodani, far less concerned with security than lmperial traders (...the thought of a hijacking attempt from honest Zhodani passengers is laughable) have allowed all major parts of the ship to be grouped together without special precautions.

The lower deck holds the air raft, cargo bay, and fuel tankage. Fuel is stored in the after part of the lower deck, and in the fins and other surfaces above the main deck.

On ships with turrets installed, the turrets are loaded on the upper surface just aft of the fuel scoops, but are controlled remotely from the bridge. This is a measure which allows a greater degree of centralization to ship's functions, an important consideration among small crew. The Zodani far trader is often armed with triple missile turrets, or, alternatively, with two missiles and one sandcaster apiece .

Air/Raft : The air/raft is a standard, open-top model, similar to those found in the Imperium.

History & Background[edit]

The Fanzhheinz-class Far Trader is a ship serving with the Zhodani Navy.

The Fanzhhienz class Far Trader is an old model of trading vessel frequent1y encountered in Zhodani or Zhodani-allied space; as such, they are often seen throughout the Far Frontiers Sector and in other areas which border the Consulate. Basically identical in capacity and design to the Type A2 found in the Imperium, the Fanzhhienz class of traders is distinguished most by the Zhodani-inspired design elements which give it an unusual appearance.

As common in the Far Frontiers and similar regions (especially in Zhodani client states or trade partners, such as Alntzar and the Descarothe Hegemony) as more familiar small traders are in Imperial space, the Fanzhhienz is an exceptionally interesting vessel.

Variants[edit]

There is an almost identical Fanzhienz-class which downgrades the Maneuver Drive to 1G.
