Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance.

The Athelstan class Merchant is mercantile starship.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

The Athelstan is a modified Type R2 design, and is fairly typical of ships built in frontier areas with an integral refueling capability, a maneuver drive capable of making a landing while fully loaded on any inhabitable planet, and a full armament package.

  • Standard armament of an Athelstan is a triple missile turret, a triple beam laser turret and two triple sandcaster turrets.
  • Unlike many other SIE vessels, the Athelstan does not ordinarily carry a robotic crew supplement since the supply of cheap robots has also dried up.
