Cylleen is a pre-agricultural, moderate population rich garden world with over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts.
- Garden worlds are known for their near-ideal utopian environments conducive to most sophonts, plants, animals, and other forms of life.
- It is a pre-agricultural world with an environment suitable for large scale agricultural and livestock industries that have not yet been widely developed.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
- It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Cybele Subsector of Aldebaran Sector.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Cylleen has a solitary primary star.
- It is an orange main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x7 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 gas giant.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Cylleen is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Cylleen has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Cylleen has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
Cylleen has two polar seas separated by an equatorial arid zone. Near the poles, most mountain valleys have their own river systems and lakes, rich and vibrant with life. Each sea contains a small central icecap.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
World Starport (St)[edit]
Cylleen has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
The landing zone is very old, dating from just after the Long Night, possibly older. Nonetheless, it has recently been upgraded with new construction and additional fueling capability. The new construction is being supported by the nearby system of Hulun.
The starport is located in the northern nation-valley of Burrows, near the capitol, Cylon.
World Population (P)[edit]
Cylleen has a population of 500,000,000 sophonts (hundreds of millions).
- The population almost entirely consists of Solomani humans.
Urbanization[edit]
Cities on the world generally lie alongside major rivers and line the larger lakes. Agrarian villages with associated farmlands are scattered everywhere else.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Rim Anglic, a dialect of Anglic and the principal language of the Confederation.
- Local Cylleen dialects of Rim Anglic.
- Cylleene Anglic, a dialect of Rim Anglic spoken on the world.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Cylleen possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fission power generation, advanced water and wind generation of electricity.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, early ATV's, and dedicated AFV's.
- Water: Amphibious vehicles, improved submersibles, and early SCUBA gear.
- Air: Early jet aircraft and rotorcraft VTOL's.
- Space: Early unmanned rocket delivery systems and early manned orbital rockets.
World Government (G)[edit]
Cylleen has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
Major Northern Valley-States:
- Burrows
- Jonssi
- Claybourne
Major Southern Valley-States:
- Alabama
- Arkansas
- Mississippi
World Law (L)[edit]
Cylleen has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: -1 (unimportant)
World Economy[edit]
Industrial power is provided by a mixture of pressurized-water nuclear reactors and a handful of newer molten-salt reactors, both fueled by Uranium, albeit slightly enriched. Most large-mass trade is settled via rail shipment using a form of diesel-electric locomotive tug on an iron railroad: tunnels and bridges have been constructed to facilitate this traffic. Computational power is extremely basic, with only governments and large corporations have access to electronic computation. A few simple hand computers would exponentially increase their current planetary capacity.
Basic initial trade negotiations have recently started with Hulun.
- Resources: 7 (few)
- Labor: 7 (tens of millions)
- Infrastructure: A (extensive)
- Efficiency: +1 (average)
World Culture[edit]
This society is hardworking and industrialized. Socially, it is rather conservative.
- Heterogenity: B (discordant)
- Acceptance: 7 (aloof)
- Strangeness: 4 (somewhat distinct)
- Symbols: 5 (concrete)
