The Coilin Trace is a small cluster principally located in Aldebaran Sector.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)

The Coilin Trace lies across the border between Aldebaran Sector and Neworld Sector. It is a Restricted Zone controlled by the Confederation military.

  • Each of its six member worlds has an identifying code or a hex location as its name.

A basic chart of the Trace is shown, right:

  • Member worlds are highlighted in brown.

Only one world, designated 3224 / SCSS-D4, is known with certainty to have an Anglic name -- Coilin. It is from this that the Trace draws its name.

Corporate Interest[edit]

A number of Solomani corporations are known to be active within the Trace.

  • They work closely with the military authorities.
  • The nature of their activities has not been made public.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The entire Trace is designated as a Red Zone. Travel to this region is prohibited.

Ostensibly, the Trace is used for training and equipment storage, as well as serving as the home base for a number of specialist military units. Stories persist about other clandestine activities within the region, including its use as a holding area for detainees and political undesirables, or that strange, highly advanced technological devices created by some long dead alien civilization are being tested and reproduced.

  • SolSec does not look favorably upon this kind of loose talk.

Solomani Security keeps a very close eye on things within the Trace to ensure the security of the Solomani State and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the the State and its interests.
